Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, February 8, reveal that Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) approached Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) at Titan Industries with her GabiChic proposal, wanting Titan to help relaunch the company.
Xander was impressed with Gabi’s proposal, and he agreed to do business with Gabi.
Meanwhile, over at the Kiriakis mansion, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) was back from his trip to Philadelphia, where he smoothed things over with the Vitali crime family.
Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) heard all the details, and he was relieved to hear that the mob was no longer gunning for him.
Philip handed his father his letter of resignation, assuming that Victor wanted him out of Titan Industries, but Victor said that he wanted Philip to stay on at the family company.
Just then, Xander walked in the room and was incredulous that Philip wasn’t fired after everything he had done.
At the DiMera mansion, Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) told Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) that he turned Gabi’s proposal down and why. Then Jake broached the idea of having Kate come to DiMera to work with him.
Kate balked, saying that she had a job with Abe Carver (James Reynolds), but she said that she’d think about it.
After Jake took off, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) came into the room with his shirt covered in the kids’ slime.
After some discussion about Jake turning down Gabi’s proposal, Chad filled in Kate about how Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) was Jack Deveraux’s (Matthew Ashford) long-lost daughter.
Kate reeled as she heard about how Laura Horton (Jaime Lyn Bauer) paid off Gwen’s mother.
Over at the Horton house, Laura talked briefly with Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller), and then Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) entered the room.
Abigail took off to go pick up the kids from the DiMera mansion, and Laura wondered if Jennifer could ever forgive her for what she did. Jennifer said yes, but she noted that a lot of damage had been done.
Through their conversation, Laura learned that Gwen was the one who drugged Abigail, and Jennifer told Laura that she just needed to stay out of the situation going forward.
Meanwhile, over at the Salem Inn, Jack showed up at Gwen’s door to apologize for her for everything she went through as a child.
Gwen relayed that Abigail had just been there and said that someone else paid off her mother.
Jack said that it was Jennifer’s mother Laura, and he said that he wanted to make up for what had happened. Jack told Gwen that he wanted to be her father, but that she needed to give up her vendetta against Abigail. Gwen said that she’d take it under advisement.
Outside the Brady Pub, Abigail ran into Jake and together they rehashed the details of Gwen’s tell-all in The Intruder.
Abigail told Jake that she and Gwen were sisters, and Jake reeled, saying that he never knew. Jake was also surprised to learn that Gwen was the one who drugged Abigail last year.
As their conversation progressed, talk turned to Gabi, and Abigail wanted to know if Jake had feelings for Gabi. Jake hesitated, and Abigail backed off the question saying it wasn’t her business.
After Abigail left, Gabi walked up to Jake and gloated about taking GabiChic to Titan, promising to run DiMera Enterprises into the ground.
In town square, Kate bumped into Laura as Laura was on the way to the Salem Inn to see Gwen. Kate taunted her old enemy Laura for destroying her own family, saying that it was ironic.
Laura said that at least she could admit when she made a mistake. Laura then walked into the Salem Inn.
Back at the DiMera mansion, Chad took off his slime-covered shirt just as Abigail walked in. And back at the Horton house, Jack returned to tell Jennifer that he has gone to see Gwen and that he told her about Laura being the person who paid off her mother all those years ago.
Jack said that he offered to be Gwen’s dad, and Jennifer wondered if Gwen would be able to forgive Laura.
At the Salem Inn, Gwen was angrily looking up Laura online when there was a knock on the door. Gwen answered, and it was Laura.
