Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, June 21, reveals that Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) granted EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feurriegel) wish, but Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) questioned his brother’s motives. Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) also learned a hot secret, so let’s talk about what went down on Monday’s Days episode.
At the DiMera mansion, Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) pushed Jake to make love to her and profess his love as well. Jake did his best to wiggle out of the tight spot and convinced Kate to rest, but Kate insisted she still wanted to feel close to him.
Kate got Jake to wrap his arms around her and cuddle in bed, which led to Jake feeling uncomfortable.
Downstairs, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) thought back to learning Kate was scheming and then messed with Gabi by acting like things might rekindle between Jake and Kate now that they were sharing a room.
As for EJ, he urged Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) to tell him what they were talking about. Sami claimed Lucas wanted to stay despite being kicked out, so she was urging him not to get any ideas.
EJ wondered why Lucas wanted to stick around the DiMera mansion, so Sami got tripped up again by noting that he wanted to be near blind Kate and was a devoted son. EJ asked why Sami would have a problem with Lucas staying there then.
Sami finally argued that it was EJ she was worried about – that he’d have a problem with her ex staying under the same roof.
However, EJ clearly didn’t view Lucas as any sort of threat since he thought whatever Lucas had with Sami was ancient history.
Afterward, EJ interrupted Gabi’s conversation with Chad and hoped she’d be OK with him living at the mansion along with Sami. Gabi and EJ acknowledged that they’d gotten along pretty well in the past.
Gabi felt like it’d be nice to have someone around she didn’t hate and thought this would allow EJ to get to know Jake a bit better.
Gabi then found Sami looking distraught on the staircase, so she pointed out that Sami helped her with all the Nick drama in the past.
Sami was also Arianna Horton’s (Sydney Brower) grandmother, so Gabi felt there was a certain level of trust between them. She suggested she’d listen if Sami ever needed to talk.
Sami admitted that EJ was back to his old self and wanted to fix their marriage. She just wanted to go back to Italy where there no distractions and felt things would be complicated in Salem.
Gabi thought it was lucky that Sami could be with her man at all and reflected on her own situation with Jake.
After Gabi vented, she decided she wanted to see what was going on up in Jake’s room. Sami worried that maybe that wasn’t such a good idea, but Gabi argued that she wasn’t going to let Kate’s blindness screw up her relationship with Jake.
In Jake’s room, Lucas interrupted their cuddle session and mentioned that EJ was moving in. That news unsettled Jake, who found Gabi in the hallway moments later.
Gabi was upset to learn Kate tried to sleep with Jake, but he was more concerned about EJ being back in town out of the blue.
Gabi insisted that EJ wanted to work on his marriage, but Jake worried there was more to the story since EJ didn’t return to Italy with Sami. He feared EJ might want to regain control of DiMera Enterprises.
Downstairs again on Monday’s DOOL episode, EJ pushed Chad to give him an answer about teaming up. Chad refused to get on board without talking to Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) first, so EJ understood the importance of that.
Afterward, EJ reconvened with Sami and assured her that she wanted to be a more generous spirit and reconnect emotionally. Sami kissed EJ passionately and looked fearful as he held her in his arms.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Monday’s Days episode, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) doted on Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) by bringing her breakfast and promising a video chat with Parker Jonas (Christian Ganiere) later.
Brady showed up and pushed to talk to Chloe about work, which Philip wasn’t happy about.
Philip eavesdropped as Brady filled Chloe in on Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) becoming Basic Black’s newest hire.
Brady revealed how Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) had fought for it. He suspected there was more to the story and that Nicole was hiding her true motives.
After Philip brought Chloe her medication, he convinced Brady to leave. Once Philip was alone with Chloe, he worried that Brady was trying to drag Chloe into drama.
Chloe got Philip to admit he’d been listening in on their conversation about Xander, but she didn’t need Philip to protect her.
Philip remained protective anyway and wondered why she’d put herself in the middle of that mess when she could come to work for him instead.
At Basic Black, Nicole complained about Sami trying to prove she slept with Xander. Since Xander would be out of a job if the secret got out, Nicole felt he should be worried, too.
Xander thought Sami was an expert at screwing up her life and figured there was surely some leverage to find. He even thought Sami might’ve cheated herself – perhaps with Lucas when they were trapped in the DiMera secret room.
Xander noted that people had a tendency to hook up down there. He pointed out that desperation and fear could lead to captives seeking comfort in each other’s arms.
Xander rattled off examples of other duos that had slept together in that room, but Nicole struggled to believe Sami and Lucas’ reignited anything.
Nicole felt there was no proof, but Xander pointed out there was no proof that they did anything either. Even so, Nicole was troubled over the threat and couldn’t even say what they did.
Xander said it for her, so Brady walked in just in time to overhear. Brady looked livid after Xander declared that he had a scorching hot night with Nicole behind Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) back.
