Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, March 22, reveals that Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) threw back several drinks as Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) listened to his heartbreaking story.
Xander filled Jack in on how he found Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) in bed with Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) after “Susan Banks” aka Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) alerted him to trouble.
Jack didn’t think that made sense and asked if Rex made a pass at Sarah. However, Xander was adamant that Sarah made the pass and that she insisted her future is now with Rex.
Xander wondered if maybe Sarah was stringing him along the whole time and waited until their wedding day to dump him – just to inflict the maximum pain. He guessed he didn’t know Sarah as well as he thought he did.
At the pub on Monday’s Days episode, Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) tried her best to be supportive of Rex, who was thrilled to be back together with Sarah. Nevertheless, Kate worried that Sarah could change her mind and thought it seemed like she had serious commitment issues.
Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) got updates on Rex’s plan to leave town with Sarah before Rex went upstairs. That gave Kate a chance to give Roman the news that Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) was shot with her stolen gun.
Kate worried Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) was behind that theft and took matters into her own hands that night.
At Nicole Brady’s (Arianne Zucker) apartment, Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) was there babysitting Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley) when Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) arrived.
Lucas relieved Tripp of his babysitting duties since he wanted to talk to Allie alone when she returned home.
At the police station, Allie thought she’d been summoned to see Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney), but Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) admitted it was about something else.
Rafe explained that Charlie’s gun was the murder weapon – and that Kate claimed the gun was stolen. He wondered if Allie knew anything about that, but Sami burst in before Allie could say much of anything without a lawyer.
After Sami hustled Allie out, she ripped into Rafe for interrogating her daughter. Rafe argued that he was trying to help by not reading Allie her rights. That way whatever Allie said would be inadmissible. Rafe told Sami about the gun situation and warned that Allie was in big trouble.
Sami argued that all the evidence pointed at her instead, so Rafe wondered if Sami was offering a confession. After Rafe accused Sami of stalling to protect Allie, she blurted out that she wasn’t. “I did it,” Sami declared. “I killed Charlie Dale.”
Back with Allie, she came home to Lucas’ questions about Kate’s gun and the night Charlie was killed. Allie admitted to stealing the gun and going to Charlie’s apartment, but she didn’t shoot him.
A flashback revealed a faceoff with Charlie, who insisted Allie wasn’t a killer and tried to get a rise out of her by mentioning Henry.
Since that didn’t send Allie over the edge, Charlie assumed nothing would. As tears streamed down Allie’s face, Charlie took the gun from her and she ran out.
Once Allie told Lucas her version of events, he was relieved and pulled his daughter into a tight hug.
Lucas wanted Allie to tell Rafe exactly the same story and revealed that Sami actually shot Charlie’s dead body. Allie realized that someone shot Charlie after she left but before Sami got there, so she was puzzled over who it could be.
At Charlie’s door, Tripp showed up and looked at the crime scene tape. He flashed back to banging on that door the night Charlie was murdered – and then looked pensive in the present.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say the show will explore more about Tripp as a murder suspect in the coming episodes, so stick with DOOL!
Meanwhile, Xander returned to his suite and found a gift from Sarah, which had a note for her “beloved husband.” Sarah told Xander that she couldn’t wait to see him in his kilt and out of it. Xander wondered to himself how Sarah could do this to him.
In the DiMera cellar, Sarah accidentally got jabbed with the syringe during her struggle with Kristen and quickly seemed out of it. As Sarah hallucinated, she thought Kristen was Xander – and Kristen decided to use that in her favor.
“Xander” told Sarah that they had to run away together and added that he’d take her to an island for their honeymoon.
Once Sarah had her wedding dress back on, Kristen encouraged her to get in a huge trunk. Later, Kristen had the Sarah mask on again as she wheeled that trunk out near the pub.
Rex was ready to leave with “Sarah,” but she stunned him by insisting she wasn’t ready for a commitment. Sarah asked Rex to understand that she needed time by herself and urged him not to chase after her.
As “Sarah” sashayed away with the trunk, she gave a satisfied smirk. As other Days news comes in, we’ll keep you posted. Days of Our Lives spoilers say some shockers are still to come as Kristen’s scheme goes awry.
