Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, November 1, reveals that possessed Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) kissed Nick Fallon (Blake Berris) while Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) stabbed Carmine Merlino (Richie Stephens) to death. Deimos Kiriakis (Vincent Irizarry) also horrified Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) with his own undead return, so here’s how all the DOOL action played out.
In the cemetery, Charlie rose from the grave and was at the devil’s command. He was eager to teach Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) a few lessons and had scores to settle with lots of other people in Salem as well. Possessed Marlena insisted that the more mischief Charlie made, the happier she would be.
At the hospital, Allie assured Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) that she was fine with his cemetery ghost tour idea. Once they made it to the town square, Allie decided she couldn’t do it. The idea of being around all those dead people creeped Allie out.
Tripp sensed that maybe Allie was upset with him, so she confessed she was indeed a little upset. Allie had seen Tripp and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) talking earlier. Despite their attempt to cover, Allie figured Chanel and Tripp were talking about her.
Tripp eventually admitted they were discussing a subject that wasn’t his favorite – that he’s more into Allie than she’s into him. Allie realized Tripp meant because she hadn’t said “I love you” back. Tripp said he didn’t know Allie told Chanel about that, but Allie reminded Tripp that Chanel was her best friend.
As for the not saying “I love you” back part, Allie assured Tripp this wasn’t about him. She had never said those words to anyone and brought up how hard things had been because of what Charlie did to her. Allie knew it was horrible to say, but she was glad Charlie was dead.
At the police station, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) brought good news to Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus). Abe Carver (James Reynolds) backed up Jake’s story, so he was off the hook for the shooting.
However, Rafe wasn’t willing to release Jake yet since he was still guilty of bringing a loaded firearm to a city park, which was against public ordinance. Rafe also thought the DA would want to talk to Jake about all his priors with Carmine – not to mention the “Philly” PD.
Rafe suggested the best way for Jake to help himself was to roll on Merlino and reveal who might’ve wanted to help him out. Jake protested that he hadn’t had dealings with Merlino in years. Gabi once again pointed the finger at Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and mentioned her scheme with Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson).
Rafe wondered why Philip would go after Gabi Chic, so Gabi fibbed that he wanted to run things his own way. Since Rafe didn’t think he was getting the whole story from Gabi, he left to see Abe and told Jake someone would take him back to his cell.
In Abe’s hospital room, Nicole paid Abe a visit and expressed how glad she was that he pulled through. Talk turned to Nicole’s divorce and how she was seeing someone new. Abe wasn’t pleased to learn it was EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and wondered what changed Nicole’s mind about him.
Nicole noted that EJ was doing the pursuing this time – plus, he helped her forget about someone else that Abe would’ve approved of. After Nicole said she missed her chance with this guy, Abe assumed he must know him since Nicole said he would approve.
Suddenly, Rafe entered hoping to get Abe’s signature for his statement. Nicole and Rafe decided to let Abe rest while they went out for a cup of coffee, but they wound up just grabbing one in the waiting area.
Rafe admitted that Ava might be indirectly responsible for Abe’s shooting. He quizzed Nicole about whether Ava might’ve said anything to suggest the mob life wasn’t all that far behind her.
Nicole hadn’t heard anything suspicious from Ava and hadn’t really talked to Philip lately due to all the romantic drama he was dealing with. Rafe suggested maybe Gabi was just making stuff up, so Nicole urged him to talk to Ava and keep an open mind.
Meanwhile, Ava chastised Carmine for showing up at the police commissioner’s house. Carmine didn’t like hiding out at the town dump and demanded Ava upgrade him to some five-star accommodations. He made it clear that if he was going down, Ava was doing down with him.
Ava didn’t think Carmine should be talking to his boss like that, but Carmine didn’t view her as the boss and wasn’t afraid of her. After some arguing, Carmine picked up a dish towel and threatened to strangle Ava with it. Before Carmine could get the job done, Charlie barged in and stabbed Carmine in the chest.
“Mother, I’m home,” Charlie said to a stunned Ava. He confirmed that he was undead now – unlike Carmine, who was dead on the floor. Charlie pushed Ava to thank him for saving her and angrily asked if this would make his mom love him. Charlie felt he’d never be perfect like Ava’s sainted Tripp.
Ava tried to tell herself this must be a nightmare, but Charlie grabbed another knife and said he wanted Ava to see the hell he calls home sweet home. After Ava gave Charlie a shove and yelled for him to get away, she took off out the door.
When Rafe came home, he was horrified to see Carmine dead with a knife through his chest. Back with Allie, she seemed like she was finally about to say “I love you” to Tripp. Unfortunately, Ava’s phone call interrupted before Allie could make her declaration.
Tripp couldn’t understand much of what Ava was trying to tell him, but he knew she needed help and agreed to meet her at the pub. Once Tripp rushed over there, he found a frantic Ava and learned something had happened that he wouldn’t believe. “I saw your brother,” Ava said.
At the cemetery again on Monday’s Days episode, Marlena wanted to unleash more terror by forming an undead team. She brought Nick back from the dead next and thought he’d become quite the handsome devil. “Still so young and handsome and tempting,” possessed Marlena said before kissing Nick passionately.
Marlena eventually admitted the kiss was just a diversion and asked what Nick would do with one more day on earth. Nick said he would avenge his death, so Marlena urged him to go after Gabi – though the devil liked her OK when she was doing his bidding.
Marlena said she might need one more person for her undead army, but she hinted that Gabi would have to die tonight. Nick asked if Marlena wanted him to kill Gabi or not, so Marlena just encouraged him to do whatever would create the most misery for the most people.
After sending Nick on his way, Marlena brought Deimos back to complete her unholy alliance. She pushed undead Deimos to go after Nicole, who never paid for killing him.
Deimos was eager to get vengeance and soon cornered Nicole at Basic Black, where she was talking to Duke the bear as well as herself. As Deimos came up behind Nicole, he warned that talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity. Nicole screamed and fell out of her chair in horror.
At home on Monday’s Days episode, Allie heard a knock at the door. She muttered about how the trick-or-treaters had better not wake Henry Horton (Nash Gunderson). When Allie opened the door, Charlie grinned and said “trick.”
Back in the cemetery, Marlena taunted Tom Horton (Macdonald Carey) and Alice Horton (Francis Reid) in their graves since their great grandson was now wreaking havoc on a place they cherish. The devil hinted that maybe he’d arrange a family reunion, but then laughed since he was just kidding.
Soon after, Gabi got a bit of a chill while on the phone with Will Horton (Chandler Massey). She hung up and suggested it felt like somebody just walked over her grave. Nick appeared to a reeling Gabi and said he knew the feeling!
