Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) will have an emotional reunion, so these exes will tackle their past, present and future during the week of December 27-31. Eric’s trip home will leave him in the prime position to help Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), but he’ll certainly see Nicole again, too.
DOOL fans know mistakes were made on both sides of Eric and Nicole’s marriage.
Eric neglected his new wife and family by staying away for so long, so it’s easy to see why Nicole was lonely and vulnerable.
At the same time, Nicole shouldn’t have cheated – especially not with someone like Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) since Eric absolutely loathes him.
Nicole’s betrayal understandably left Eric devastated and furious.
In the end, Nicole didn’t think Eric could be the best version of himself with her.
When Eric reveals that he’s returned to the priesthood, that should confirm Nicole’s suspicions.
Eric is someone who loves to help others at his core. It’s at the heart of who Eric is and sometimes comes at the expense of those closest to him.
That’s why recommitting to a life of service makes sense for Eric at this point in the story – particularly since Marlena is in desperate need of a real priest at the moment!
Nicole may express happiness that Eric’s found his true calling again and hope the decision has brought him peace.
There’s always going to be love between Nicole and Eric, even if they’re not a Days couple. Perhaps coming together for a deep conversation will allow Eric and Nicole to address that.
Of course, there may also be some awkwardness over Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) catching Nicole in bed with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
Nicole won’t be happy when she finds out about EJ’s reunion with Sami and all this kidnapping mayhem, so she may wonder why she constantly lands in romantic messes.
There’s also the matter of Nicole’s feelings for Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), so Eric might sense that Nicole’s lost and confused.
Maybe Eric will give Nicole a little pep talk that includes reassurance about figuring it out. Nicole is resilient and always finds a way forward, so Eric might remind her of that.
There’s still hope for “Ericole” fans who are rooting for a reunion of the romantic variety down the road.
For now, Nicole and Eric’s reunion will simply be about seeing each other in person again and working through all the drama.
