Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) could return from the dead to break up Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) – at least if DOOL’s willing to take advantage of the perfect soapy setup!
Days fans know Stefan was the love of Gabi’s life, so she really struggled to let him go. During Gabi’s heartfelt speech to Stefan recently, Gabi talked about holding onto her grief as a way to keep Stefan alive. Of course, Gabi doesn’t have to do that anymore now that she’s found new love with Jake.
To quiet any lingering fears or doubts Jake might have, Gabi assured Jake that she liked him for him – not because he was Stefan’s twin brother. However, that’s just another great reason to bring Stefan back from the dead.
Days viewers would get to see who Gabi really loves more and who she’d choose if given the chance.
It’s safe to say Gabi would pick Stefan at this point in the story, but that could change depending on how things play out with Jake. If Gabi’s love for Jake deepens, perhaps he could give Stefan some competition.
Regardless, Days has Brandon Barash right there on their cast for a dual role, so why not take advantage of that? Barash would probably have a blast playing both parts for an arc that allows Gabi to pick the best DiMera twin.
Jake and Stefan couldn’t be more different, so it’d be exciting to have them on canvas at the same time to battle for Gabi’s heart.
Stefan seemingly had his heart removed for a transplant, but that could be explained away easily enough. This is a soap! Back-from-the-dead explanations are supposed to be far-fetched and fun.
It’s not something that DOOL writers have to worry about too much. They could just claim Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) got someone else’s heart while Stefan was secretly whisked away by Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) to recover.
Gabi would be in for a huge shock if Stefan suddenly walked into her life again and wanted his wife back. Jake would finally be able to meet his twin, but he’d hate Stefan’s guts for potentially breaking up his blissful romance with Gabi.
