Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 29, reveals that Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) took a call from Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), who was looking for Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow).
Allie hadn’t seen her grandmother and turned her attention to crying Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) once she disconnected.
After Allie realized Henry was burning up, she took him to the hospital and told Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) that he had a fever of 103.
Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) also heard the news, so Kayla suggested Tripp could check Henry out while she supervised. Allie was fine with that and insisted she trusted Tripp.
In an exam room, Tripp examined Henry and asked Allie if he’d be pulling at his ear. Allie confirmed it, so Tripp suspected this was an ear infection – and Kayla proudly agreed.
Tripp assured Allie that she could give Henry some children’s acetaminophen to help ease the pain until the antibiotics kicked in.
“Thanks, Doc,” Allie said with a smile – though Tripp was quick to remind her that he was just a med student. Allie commented on Tripp having the last name “Johnson” on his ID badge and thought Steve must be so proud that Tripp took his name.
Tripp asked if Allie could keep a secret, so she confirmed she could despite being Sami Brady DiMera’s (Alison Sweeney) daughter. Tripp admitted that when he first saw Allie looking so terrified, he was afraid, too. He never wanted to see his nephew sick or in pain.
That moved Allie based on the look in her eyes. Allie suggested that getting sick was just part of life, but she felt confident Tripp would be the one to help people get better. Allie knew Tripp would be a great doctor.
After Allie touched Tripp’s hand and asked if he believed her, he said he knew that he wanted to. Allie and Tripp leaned in close as they shared a spark-filled moment.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say some curveballs are brewing in Allie and Tripp’s budding romance, so DOOL fans will want to stay tuned.
Near the main desk on Thursday’s Days episode, Steve met up with Kayla and found out how well Tripp had handled Henry’s crisis. Steve talked about Tripp being sweet on Allie, but Kayla reminded Steve not to tease Tripp about that.
At the DiMera mansion, Kate was bound and gagged in the DiMera cellar. Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) insisted that Kate would still be taking that beach getaway.
However, Kristen added that Kate would be headed to her island paradise alone. She showed off a Kate mask and explained how she planned to wear it when she dumped Jake. Then, Kate would be shipped off – never to be heard from again.
Kate insisted this wouldn’t work, but Kristen disagreed and headed off to put her plan in motion. Meanwhile, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) angrily told Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) to go to their couples therapy session alone since she was done with all that.
After Abigail left, Chad canceled the session and filled Jake in on Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) pregnancy.
Jake knew Gwen well enough to ask if she was working some angle, but Chad insisted Gwen was indeed pregnant and that the timing fit for it to be his. Chad worried this would destroy his marriage, but Jake gave his brother a little pep talk and dashed off to continue his search for Kate.
At the Horton house, Gwen was formally introduced to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols).
Steve respected Jack Deveraux’s (Matthew Ashford) decision to embrace his relationship with Gwen, but he wasn’t as nice about it and felt Gwen had to do whatever she could to earn Abigail’s forgiveness and respect.
Afterward, Jack apologized for Steve since he wasn’t known for his tact. Gwen admitted to Jack that she was indeed pregnant and explained why she’d decided to keep the baby.
Since Gwen knew her decision would further complicate things, she argued it was best to keep her distance from Abigail. Gwen announced she was leaving town and that she’d probably go to south “Philly.”
That concerned Jack, who pointed out there’d be no one there for Gwen. Jack wanted Gwen to move in the Horton house instead and pushed her to go pack up her stuff.
Gwen was touched since she could tell Jack genuinely meant his offer. Jack felt the situation with Abigail was his problem, so he pushed Gwen to worry about herself and the baby. He felt the rest would work itself out.
While Gwen hugged Jack in gratitude, Abigail made her way to Titan and physically dragged Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) to Julie’s Place so they could talk.
Gabi was stunned over Abigail’s updates on the pregnancy, but she felt she had her own problems since she couldn’t get over Jake.
Gabi’s advice was for Abigail to focus on the rest of her perfect life and get over it. When Chad called, Gabi snatched the phone away and answered it before handing it to Abigail. That forced Abigail to talk to Chad briefly, so she decided to come home and talk.
At Titan on Thursday’s episode of Days of Our Lives, Jake showed up to share his concerns with Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson). Jake only got a terse text and still couldn’t find Kate, but Philip argued this is what his mom typically did when she was done with a guy.
Philip suggested Jake had options and pointed out that Gabi wasn’t over him – not by a longshot.
Jake argued that Gabi wasn’t over his brother, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash), who he looked exactly like. Suddenly, Gabi appeared and wondered what was up. Jake felt they had to keep meeting like this and took off.
While Chad was on the phone with Abigail, Kristen managed to slip out undetected. She headed up to Kate’s room – and later, Kristen criticized Kate’s style as she looked at herself in a full-blown Kate disguise.
Kristen tested out her voice as “Kate” and took Jake’s call. Jake was frustrated since he’d been looking all over for Kate, but she agreed to meet him at the pub since they had a lot to discuss.
Abigail met back up with Chad and insisted that although she was hurting over Gwen’s baby, it would hurt more if she lost Chad. Abigail was willing to trust that their love could get them through this, but she looked uneasy as Chad embraced her.
Back with Gwen on Thursday’s Days episode, she talked to her unborn baby about his or her grandfather being in their corner.
Gwen was packing in her suite when she suddenly clutched her midsection and doubled over in pain. She looked shocked as she sank to the floor over these horrible cramps.
At the Horton house again, Jack called Jennifer Horton (Cady McClain) in Boston. Jack confessed that he’d made a unilateral decision and wanted Jennifer to know about it. He informed Jennifer that he’d asked Gwen to move in, which caught Jennifer off guard.
“Into our home?!” Jennifer exclaimed on Thursday’s Days of Our Lives episode. Jack didn’t want Gwen going through her pregnancy alone, so Jennifer acknowledged that it was Jack’s home, too. She was mostly worried about how Abigail would feel about this.
