Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, February 18, reveal that Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) and Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) talked about the GabiChic proposal at the Titan CEO office.
Philip thought that perhaps Kate wanted him to accept the proposal to keep Gabi Dimera (Camila Banus) away from Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash). Kate denied it.
After some bickering about each other’s love lives, Philip indicated that he was already going to make the deal with Gabi for GabiChic. Kate then sprung on Philip that she might end up working for DiMera Enterprises again, and Philip was surprised.
In town square, Gabi needled Jake about making a deal with Philip over at Titan. Jake quickly surmised that Gabi didn’t have the deal yet, and Gabi proceeded to come on strong to Jake.
“You could have had all this,” Gabi said, pointing at herself and touching Jake seductively. Jake insisted that he wanted Kate, but Gabi said that Jake was terrified of how much he actually wanted her.
A short time later, Kate came along and wondered what Jake was doing in town square, since he had a meeting at work. Jake said that he got held up by something, and Kate asked what.
Kate gazed at the vacant storefront that used to be GabiChic, and she quickly realized what Jake had been doing.
At the cemetery, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) stared each other down.
Abigail demanded to know what Gwen was doing there, and it wasn’t long until the ladies were bickering about whether Laura Horton’s (Jaime Lyn Bauer) death was an accident or intentional.
Abigail fumed that Gwen had threatened to kill the person who paid off her mother, and Gwen said that it was merely a figure of speech. It wasn’t long before Abigail lunged at Gwen, and they fought and tussled until Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) came along and broke up the argument.
Shawn told Abigail that Laura wouldn’t want this, and Abigail and Gwen each argued that the other should be arrested for assault. Shawn decided to take each of the ladies down to the station to cool off.
At the place where Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) is being held, Alan Rhodes (Jason Downs) brought Ciara cold gruel for breakfast as punishment for trying to escape.
Ciara asked where Rhodes had gone last night, and he said that he drove up to Statesville to see Vincent Belman (Michael Teh), but that he didn’t end up seeing Vincent.
Rhodes told Ciara that Vincent was no longer available, and Ciara guessed that Vincent must be dead. “They found him that way in his prison cell,” Rhodes said.
Ciara hoped that Rhodes would let her go, but Rhodes said that someone else was calling the shots now. Ciara wondered if it was Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva).
Rhodes said that it was a “he” who wants to remain anonymous. Rhodes said that nothing has changed for Ciara and that she’s still a prisoner. As Rhodes faced the glass partition looking at Ciara, a gunshot rang out, and Rhodes was shot from the back through the chest. Ciara looked stunned.
At Statesville Prison, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) expected to see Vincent walk through the doors of the waiting room, but instead it was Clyde Weston (James Read).
Ben was horrified to learn from Clyde that Vincent had hung himself in his jail cell. Clyde said that he didn’t kill Vincent.
Ben lamented, saying that Vincent knew where Ciara is, and Ben told Clyde all the details about Ciara being alive, including how Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) said that Ciara was in a glass box and that there was a shark.
Clyde said that Vincent must have an accomplice on the outside, and that he was expecting a visitor yesterday.
Later, after Ben was gone, Clyde talked with Orpheus (George DelHoyo) in the prison. Orpheus mused that he heard about poor Vincent, and Clyde thanked Orpheus for letting him know that Ben had come to see Vincent.
After some reminiscing about the blackout last year, Clyde told Orpheus that Ben thinks that Ciara’s alive.
Orpheus played coy as Clyde went on about how Vincent may have had an accomplice out there somewhere. Eventually, Clyde figured that Orpheus knows something about Ciara. “What would I know?” Orpheus said. “But then again, I do know everything.”
At the Salem PD, Shawn put Abigail and Gwen in the interrogation room together, telling them they were going to sit there and talk. Shawn left, and Gwen and Abigail bickered amongst themself, with Abigail trying to get Gwen to confess. Gwen didn’t fall for it, and the ladies kept arguing.
Out in the squad room, Ben rushed in and told Shawn about Ciara still being alive and how she called him. Ben said that he caught the name on the visitors’ log of the person who came to see Vincent yesterday – Joseph Glenn.
Shawn got a call from the DA and walked off for a moment, then he went back into the interrogation room with Abigail and Gwen.
Shawn told Abigail and Gwen that the DA would drop all the charges against both of them if they’d agree to let it all go and walk out peacefully. Abigail and Gwen agreed, and Shawn walked back out to the squad room, where Shawn looked up Joseph Glenn on the computer.
There was a match, and it turns out Joseph Glenn was an alias for Alan Rhodes and that Rhodes had a shark tattoo.
Back at the cemetery, Gwen went to Laura’s grave and told Laura that she was sorry for what happened between them in that hotel room. Meanwhile, outside the Brady Pub, Gabi and Abigail came face to face. “We need to talk,” Abigail said.
Back at Titan, Philip got a message from Gabi about her proposal, and he texted back saying that he made a decision about GabiChic. Finally, at Rhodes’ last known address, Ben and Shawn prepared to enter. “Ciara could be on the other side of that door,” Ben said.
