Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, June 17 Recap – Ben Burns Divorce Papers, Vows to Fight for Ciara

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 17, reveals that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) burned the divorce papers and vowed to fight for Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal). Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) also declared love for Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans), so here’s how everything played out.

At home on Thursday’s DOOL episode, Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) left Ben a voicemail and tried to get some of her nervous energy out by sweeping.

When Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Belle Brady (Martha Madison) walked in, Claire confessed that she was concerned about Ben and the divorce papers Ciara sent him.

Belle felt like Ben needed to find a way to move on from Ciara, but she didn’t think Claire could be the one to help him do that – though she was proud of her daughter for being such a good friend.

Belle wanted Claire to focus on taking care of herself, but Claire argued she’d be fine as long as they didn’t have to worry about Jan Spears (Heather Lindell).

Shawn admitted Jan was in a coma and that her doctors didn’t think she could recover this time. He assured Claire that Jan wouldn’t be able to hurt their family ever again.

After Claire left, Shawn and Belle enjoyed some romantic time on the sofa as they kissed and reminded each other of their love. Once they started undressing, Belle and Shawn decided to take this to the bedroom.

At the cabin, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) showed up after receiving a report of some suspicious activity. Ben guessed that was him and explained that he was there trying to clear his head because of the divorce papers.

Rafe recalled how he threw his own divorce papers away when Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) first sent them. He was convinced he could fix things, but Hope kept sending new copies.

Rafe finally realized that if he really loved Hope, he had to accept that she didn’t want to be in the marriage. Ben wondered if Rafe meant he had to love Ciara enough to let her go.

Although Rafe couldn’t tell Ben what to do, he didn’t think Ben had much of a choice if this was what Ciara wanted.

Rafe warned that even if Ciara got her memory back, there was no guarantee things would go back to the way things were before. After Rafe told Ben he was sorry, he wished Ben good luck and took off.

Soon after, Ben heard the door creak and looked worried. He was relieved to see it was just Claire, who checked on Ben and thanked him again for saving her from the fire.

Ben felt like when it came to the divorce papers, his head was telling him one thing and his heart was telling him another. He offered updates on his discussion with Rafe, who had pushed Ben toward acceptance.

Claire wondered if that meant Ben was going to sign the papers, but he pulled out a lighter and insisted that he wasn’t done fighting for Ciara. Ben watched the divorce papers burn instead.

At the Hernandez house on Thursday’s Days episode, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) brought Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) a homemade treat from a patient at the hospital.

Ava worried about Tripp leaving Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) alone, but Tripp pointed out that he actually left her with Chanel Dupree (Precious Way).

Ava recognized the name and trashed Chanel a bit for trying to stick Tripp with that massive bar tab, but Tripp insisted Chanel was really cool once you got to know her.

Tripp revealed that Allie and Chanel were going into business together, but he admitted Chanel was kind of all over the place. One week Chanel was marrying Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and the next she was kissing Allie.

That news concerned Ava on Thursday’s Days episode, but Tripp downplayed it. He felt the real threat to his romance was dead Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) and filled Ava in on Allie’s flashbacks when they kissed.

However, Tripp was hopeful that Allie would recover despite not being able to forget.

Talk turned to Ava’s relationship with Rafe, which was going well. Ava assured Tripp she wasn’t obsessing over Rafe, but it was the best part of her day whenever he came home from a shift. Tripp grinned when Rafe walked in moments later.

After Tripp left, Rafe opened up to Ava about Hope and how Ava had helped him move on. Things turned passionate as Rafe and Ava enjoyed their romantic night.

Meanwhile, Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) admitted she was disappointed in Chanel – but not because of the kiss. Paulina was upset over Chanel keeping things from her and wondered why Chanel didn’t just tell her she was gay.

Chanel insisted she wasn’t and explained that she liked guys, too – but that she wasn’t into labels. Paulina struggled through Chanel’s lesson on identities and pronouns, but she thought of herself as a forward-thinking modern woman.

Chanel admitted she was worried about Paulina’s reaction to her kiss with Allie since her mom always said not to mix business with pleasure.

Paulina had a flashback where she told Abe she had no problem with that very thing, so Abe was amused over Paulina telling Chanel differently.

After Abe walked Paulina home, she suggested she never said she practiced what she preached! Paulina and Abe wound up sharing a kiss before she invited him in for a nightcap.

Back with Chanel, she walked through the town square with Allie and apologized for Paulina thinking they were a couple. They discussed Roman Brady’s (Josh Taylor) reaction to the kiss since he’d been nearby and shared a laugh.

“It’s fine. If people think you and I…I don’t mind,” Allie said as cutesy music played. Tripp interrupted the warm moment and thanked Allie for the key lime pie she saved him from the pub.

Chanel excused herself and Allie left quickly as well, so Tripp looked unsettled as he stood there alone.

At Julie’s Place, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) gave a halfhearted apology about how he just couldn’t take it when Bonnie started acting like Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans). Bonnie stomped off, so Justin wasn’t far behind.

Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) urged Steve to try having some compassion. She knew how crushed Justin was when Adrienne died – and then he suffered through his split from Kayla as well.

Kayla felt like Steve should try being happy for Justin. “If Bonnie makes him happy, who are we to judge?” Kayla asked.

Justin found Bonnie crying on a bench outside and reflected on it being similar to when he first met Adrienne. Bonnie felt like a copycat again, but that’s not how Justin saw it.

Justin didn’t want Bonnie to be anyone but herself and promised Bonnie was perfect just the way she was. “What I’m really trying to say is…I love you,” Justin confessed.

Bonnie loved Justin too and felt like this was a dream come true! As other Days details emerge, we’ll keep you posted. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Justin and Bonnie’s relationship will continue to deepen, so stay tuned to see if they’ll stand the test of time.
