Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 14, reveals that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) scammed Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) while Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) revealed a secret gun. Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) also made a vengeful vow, so here’s how things played out on Thursday’s Days episode.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) called Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) an “ass” and threw away the flowers he bought her.
Chloe wasn’t interested in hearing the same old apology and pushed Philip to go water their tree himself if it meant so much to him.
At Basic Black, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) got a huge flower arrangement from EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and read the card that thanked her for a lovely evening.
Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) begged Nicole to tell him she wasn’t falling for EJ’s act, but Nicole told Brady to shut up and didn’t think he was a relationship expert.
Brady acted like he was capable of change since he was willing to give Chloe and Philip his blessing.
Brady suggested he was Philip and Chloe’s biggest cheerleader, but Chloe entered and pointed out he could pack up the cheerleading gear.
Once Chloe was alone with Brady, she explained Philip’s latest blowup and thought Brady was right about him not changing.
Brady admitted that what he once shared with Chloe was intense, so he couldn’t really blame Philip for being insecure.
At the DiMera mansion, Johnny assumed EJ wanted to stick it to Chad by portraying John Black (Drake Hogestyn).
Johnny scoffed as he suggested what better way to get under Chad’s skin than to play love scenes with Abigail. He worried Abigail and Chad would walk over EJ’s involvement, but EJ had a solution.
EJ pushed Johnny to lock Abigail and Chad into contracts – one for his leading lady and one for his big investor. Then, Johnny could deliver the bad news. Although Johnny wasn’t thrilled about that plan, he went along with it.
Abigail and Chad wound up signing on the dotted line before Chad said he’d like to play John in the film. EJ whipped out another contract and revealed that he’d already signed on to play John himself.
Chad flew into a rage, especially once EJ started gloating about his “special chemistry” with Abigail and hinted about method acting.
Once EJ left, Chad chewed Johnny out for scamming them. Johnny insisted it wasn’t personal, but Chad remained livid and thought Johnny did his scheming father proud.
Chad knew EJ wanted to interfere in his marriage, but Abigail suggested flipping this around by trying to convince Mr. Shin (Michael Hagiwara) that EJ would be distracted by his side gig.
Abigail thought maybe EJ would quit, but Chad doubted it. Even so, Abigail assured Chad that nothing was going to come between them since he was the man she loved.
At the Hernandez house, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) was stunned over Gabi’s chipper attitude. Gabi revealed that she’d made a favorite dish of Rafe’s – and she offered Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) a cup of coffee just the way she liked it.
Gabi claimed she’d decided they should live harmoniously, so Rafe thought they should all celebrate the truce with Jake later.
Once Rafe was gone, Gabi turned off the nice act and called Ava a “lying hag.” She insisted this blackmail situation with Philip had Ava’s “stink” all over it.
Ava didn’t see what Gabi could do about if even if she was guilty. She also didn’t think it mattered it Jake was innocent since he still helped dispose of a body.
On Thursday’s Days episode, Ava revealed that she was eager to see Gabi Chic rise from the ashes of Gabi’s stupidity and greed. She explained that she was going to run it as Ava Chic, but Gabi said there was “no chance in hell” of that happening.
Ava argued that Gabi had to choose her business or her man, but Gabi warned that Rafe would figure out she was blackmailed.
Nevertheless, Ava felt she’d won and wanted Gabi to accept it. Gabi refused to give up and insisted Ava was going to chase Rafe right into Nicole’s arms!
Meanwhile, Jake clashed with Philip over his decision to blackmail Gabi. Jake said if Philip wanted to fire someone, then Philip should fire him. “Fine, you’re fired,” Philip replied – though Jake didn’t care about losing the job.
Philip had proof Jake was involved in a murder back in “Philly,” but Jake warned that Ava was a “bloody viper” who could feed Philip to the wolves.
Jake felt there was a price to pay when you play with the mob, so Philip asked if that was a threat.
Jake said Philip could take it any way he wanted. He added that the last time Philip got mixed up with the mob, Brady took a bullet with Philip’s name on it.
Jake suggested Philip might not be so lucky this time around and sauntered out.
Afterward, Jake paused in the park to pull a gun out of a paper bag. As for Philip, he headed to Basic Black and found Brady with his arms around Chloe.
Outside the pub on Thursday’s DOOL episode, Rafe bumped into Nicole and convinced her to have a doughnut on the bench. Once the topic of Nicole and EJ’s date came up, Rafe complained since Nicole could do so much better.
Nicole said maybe she was just trying to get past the misery and feel attractive again.
Nicole confessed that if she had her way, she would’ve gone to dinner with Rafe. That caught Rafe off guard, but Nicole insisted she missed their friendship – though she still intended to honor the agreement they made for Ava’s sake.
Rafe felt it was wrong for him to say anything about EJ, but he admitted he got “so damn jealous” every time he saw Nicole and EJ together.
Nicole warned that Rafe shouldn’t say that and pointed out he was with Ava. Rafe knew that and trailed off with a “but…”
“But what?” Nicole asked.
