Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, October 7 Recap – Justin And Gwen Arrested – Jake’s Dead Body Drama

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 7, reveals that Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) was arrested for blackmail – and Gwen Rizcech (Emily O’Brien) was facing an arrest of her own for solicitation. Jake DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) dead body drama came back to bite Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus), so here’s how it all played out on Thursday’s DOOL episode.

In the park, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) explained that a man named Jed Zanetti owned a bar in “Philly” and made it a habit of stiffing the Vitali family. Jake was sent in to rough the guy up, but he ended up beating the guy to death and dumped the body.

Philip insisted there was even an eyewitness willing to testify that the man Gabi loved was a stone-cold killer. Gabi assumed this info came from Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), but Philip claimed it was from an extensive background check.

Philip warned that Jake could go to prison for life and pushed Gabi to choose between her company or her boyfriend. Gabi didn’t believe any of this, especially after she got a whiff of Philip’s aftershave and realized he’d been in her house recently. She called Philip out for plotting with Ava and felt even more certain the info was fake.

Philip told Gabi to take the folder and show it to Jake. He noted that if he didn’t hear from Gabi soon, then he’d take a copy to the police and have Jake charged with murder. In the town square, Ava put on an innocent act and pretended she wanted Jake’s advice on how to achieve a truce with Gabi.

Jake suggested a good old-fashioned sit-down to hash things out and recalled resolving a vicious mob battle that way. Ava claimed to like the idea and acted surprised that Angelo Vitali (Angelo Tiffe) let a smart guy like Jake go. Jake said Angelo could tell his heart wasn’t in it anymore, but Ava noted that Jake was turning out to be very valuable to her.

After Ava left on Thursday’s Days episode, Gabi cornered Jake and wanted him to answer a question for her. “Did you kill Jed Zanetti?” Gabi asked as Jake stood there in shock.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) got a call from John Black (Drake Hogestyn), who explained that Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) wasn’t feeling well. That meant Marlena couldn’t take Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) to the pumpkin patch as planned, but Brady insisted he could take her.

When Brady invited Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) to tag along, she acted like she’d feel bad to bail on work. Brady kept pushing and wondered if Chloe was really worried about Philip’s reaction. However, Chloe didn’t see the need to make this about Philip and thought he had truly turned a positive corner.

Brady finally confessed that Rachel was missing her mom and could use some female energy. That convinced Chloe to join Brady and Rachel on their fall outing. After their pumpkin patch trip, Chloe wanted to stop by the tree Philip planted and water it.

Rachel did the honors and had questions about the tree, but Brady annoyed Chloe by mentioning that Philip chopped the first one down because he was acting like a spoiled brat. While Rachel was off watering more trees, Chloe scolded Brady for the uncalled-for comment.

Brady admitted he was having a hard time accepting that he lost Chloe to Philip, so Chloe appreciated the honesty. That said, Chloe needed Brady to try harder or else their friendship would suffer.

Brady conceded that maybe Philip was changing and hoped that was true for Chloe’s sake. As Chloe and Brady shared a hug on Thursday’s Days episode, Philip spied the embrace nearby and glared.

In Judge Smails’ (Richard Steinmetz) office, Justin insisted that he’d send the recording to Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) if the judge didn’t make the charges against Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) go away.

Justin threatened to have Jack share the story with the world and destroy Judge Smails’ reputation – effectively ending his career. Meanwhile, Xander and Gwen discussed the idea of taking an island getaway when this was all over. Unfortunately, Justin returned and revealed the mission hadn’t gone as planned.

When DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) barged in, she insisted that Justin had been busted for blackmailing the judge. It turns out Judge Smails recorded Justin’s threat, so DA Trask argued that Xander was going down for drug trafficking, Justin was going down for blackmail and Gwen was going down for solicitation.

DA Trask argued that if Justin suspected Judge Smails was corrupt, he should’ve proved it legally. Trask felt there could’ve been an investigation into the wrongdoing, but now The Spectator was going to run a story on Justin’s arrest and probable disbarment.

After Trask left the interrogation room, Xander apologized to Justin for dragging him into this mess. Justin took responsibility for signing up for it and admitted he’d been operating out of fear. He wanted to protect Bonnie, but now they were going to be prison pen pals instead of husband and wife.

Xander hoped to find a way out of this, but Justin didn’t see how since he was about to be charged with a felony. DA Trask urged Justin to come with her, so Gwen talked to Xander about making a mess with her idea. She felt like everything was spinning out of control, but Xander gave her a pep talk before Trask returned to charge Gwen.

As other Days news comes in, we’ll pass along updates. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Xander will hold out hope for a future with Gwen, but more obstacles are on the way.
