Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 24, reveals that Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) bailed on Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) in the bedroom while Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) vowed to take her secret to the grave. Here’s how it all played out on Tuesday’s DOOL episode.
In Xander Cook Kiriakis’ (Paul Telfer) hotel suite, he assured Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) that she didn’t have to confess to the cops.
Xander suggested it was no big deal that he spent a night in jail. Due to the deal Xander made with EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel), he didn’t expect to go to prison at all.
Gwen wondered how Xander could be so sure, so Xander insisted EJ had better come through for him since he paid him $1 million.
Gwen marveled at Xander doing all this for her and took his hand as she offered her gratitude.
“You’re very welcome,” Xander said, somewhat taken aback by the moment happening between them.
Gwen then pulled Xander into a passionate kiss and ultimately hit the sheets with him.
At Julie’s Place, Johnny took Chanel’s hand and asked if she wanted to go somewhere more private.
Chanel let Johnny know she was on board, but she seemed a little uneasy about it.
Once Johnny took Chanel back to the DiMera mansion, Chanel was surprised at his giant family home.
Up in Johnny’s room, he started making out with Chanel before she pumped the brakes. Chanel asked if Johnny had any protection, so he began rummaging around and came up empty.
Johnny wanted to run to the pharmacy, but Chanel argued that maybe it was a good thing this happened – that maybe they should just hang out for a while.
Chanel thought maybe they were rushing things and not for the right reasons, so Johnny felt like this was about the girl Chanel wasn’t over.
Chanel was apologetic, but Johnny understood and seemed pleased when Chanel suggested that maybe she’d come by and surprise him some night.
Johnny promised to be prepared next time and seemed quite smitten after Chanel left.
Next on Tuesday’s Days episode, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) was in stunned silence after Tripp Johnson’s (Lucas Adams) love declaration and eventually admitted she wasn’t sure what to say.
Since Allie wasn’t ready to say “I love you” back, Tripp suggested they could just pretend this never happened.
Allie wanted to explain herself instead and confessed that she’d never said “I love you” to a significant other before.
Those words carried a lot of weight for Allie, especially after all the trauma she’d been through.
Tripp assured Allie that it was fine and that they could go at her pace, but he checked his phone and said he had to head to the hospital.
Once Tripp made it to Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) office, he admitted he was using Kayla as an excuse for calling him in.
Tripp spilled how he said “I love you” to Allie, who didn’t say it back. Although Tripp feared he’d ruined everything, Kayla pointed out that trauma often had triggers that caused setbacks.
Tripp worried this wasn’t about the trauma of what happened with Charlie Dale (Mike Manning). He was afraid it was about Allie not having the same feelings – and about Allie’s feelings for someone else.
Kayla assumed this was about the friend Allie was previously into, but she thought Allie had put those feelings aside.
Although Allie had never given Tripp a reason to doubt her, he had to wonder if Allie had really put those feelings aside completely.
At Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) townhouse, she welcomed Allie in and said Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) was in the other room building blocks with John Black (Drake Hogestyn).
That gave Allie a chance to open up to Marlena about Tripp’s love declaration and how she didn’t feel ready to say it back.
Allie understood that her trauma could affect her, but there was more to the story. She told Marlena about the dream she had where Chanel was in bed with her along with Tripp.
Allie also confessed to feeling a stab of jealousy over Chanel’s new man and insisted that she wanted to get past any lingering feelings for Chanel if she had them.
Marlena felt like love was messy and advised Allie not to rush into anything, especially if she was confused.
Malena urged Allie to sort out her feelings before she moved forward with Tripp, so Allie thanked Marlena for talking with her.
While Marlena was in the other room getting Henry, Allie got a call from Chanel about all the paperwork for Sweet Bits being signed.
They were both excited about the bakery being all set. Chanel talked about meeting up with “thirst trap” guy and having fun, but the conversation seemed to take an uncomfortable turn for both of them.
After Chanel told Allie she’d better go, she offered a quick “love you” before Allie replied that she loved her, too.
Once Allie hung up, she seemed deep in thought over that exchange.
In the town square, Paulina and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) kissed after Abe decided he was willing to give her another shot.
Abe was adamant about meeting “Big Mama” aka Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs), so they headed back to Paulina’s place for introductions.
At Paulina’s apartment, Olivia met Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) along with the twins.
Once Paulina showed up with Abe, Olivia was rather rude to him and objected to Paulina getting back together with her sister’s former flame.
Abe did his best to win Olivia over, but Olivia wouldn’t stop scowling on Tuesday’s Days episode. After Lani and Eli left with the twins, Abe took off moments later.
“Get that damn frown off your face,” Paulina snapped at Olivia once they were alone.
Olivia ranted about Paulina playing with fire and reiterated that Paulina couldn’t tell the truth about Lani’s parentage.
Paulina knew Olivia was right and declared that she had to take the bio mom secret to the grave.
At home, Lani told Eli that she was glad Abe and Paulina were back together.
Lani hated the idea of Abe being lonely and was glad she’d given Paulina another chance as well. Lani insisted she was just happy all the secrets and lies were behind them.
