Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tuesday, January 5 Recap – Cousin Angelo Gives Charlie Up – Gwen Threatens Chad – Roman Blasts Tripp

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 5, reveal that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) found Angelo Vitali (Angelo Tiffe) in Philadelphia at a café.

John started right in, asking if Angelo had raped his granddaughter Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). Angelo was a little mouthy and stalled in answering, but he eventually revealed that he had been in the slammer in December of last year when the rape occurred.

John made a call and verified Angelos’s story, and then Steve asked Angelo if there was another male relative of Tripp Dalton’s (Lucas Adams) that they didn’t know about.

Angelo casually said that maybe it was Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) other son. John and Steve were stunned as Angelo explained that Ava had another son after Tripp, but that Ava and the son weren’t close.

Angelo said the other son’s name was “Charlie” and that he grew up in Philadelphia and flew the coop months ago. Angelo described a young man sounding just like Charlie Dale (Mike C. Manning), and this seemed to register with John.

Steve got in Angelo’s face and demanded that he spill more information about this “Charlie,” but John intervened and let Angelo go.

Steve wondered what John was thinking letting Angelo just walk away. “I think I know where Charlie is,” John drawled.

Meanwhile, back at Julie’s Place in Salem, Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) wondered if Allie was ok, since she seemed unnerved after Charlie said, “Arrivederci!” Allie said she was fine and took off, and Charlie and Claire talked happily.

Claire wanted to hang out at Charlie’s place, but Charlie said that his place was too messy. Charlie then suggested that they go to Claire’s house, and Claire thought that was a great idea.

Once at the Brady house, Claire revealed that her parents were away on their honeymoon, and she said that they had the place all to themselves.

Over at the DiMera mansion, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) fumed when she realized that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) had spent the night at the Salem Inn with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). Gwen lied and said that she slept on the chair because Chad was drunk.

Abigail attacked, wanting to know why Gwen told Chad that she kissed Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and booked a room at the Salem Inn.

Gwen said that she felt threatened by Jake and didn’t want to spill that Jake had actually kissed Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow). Abigail didn’t believe it, but Chad said that he walked in on a conversation between Gwen and Jake that seemed to back up Gwen’s story.

Abigail said that it didn’t explain why Gwen told Chad that she reserved a room at the Salem Inn.

Abigail yelled at Gwen, accusing her of being after Chad this whole time, and she asked if Gwen took advantage of Chad last night. Gwen said to ask Chad and Chad lied and said that he wasn’t taken advantage of last night.

Abigail fumed at Gwen, saying that she was fired and that she wanted Gwen out of the house now.

Chad said that he’d handle Gwen, and Abigail left the room, telling Gwen to be gone when she got back. Chad then lashed out at Gwen, who said that she was refusing to leave. Gwen insisted that Chad get Abigail to reconsider, or else she’d spill the beans about them sleeping together.

At the hospital, Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) entered Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) office and vented for a bit about how Steve and John were on a wild goose chase to prove that Tripp didn’t rape Allie. Soon, Allie arrived for her appointment with Marlena, and she shared that Charlie unnerved her earlier.

“He seemed so familiar,” Allie said, saying that she thought something about Charlie reminded her of Tripp. Later, after Allie had gone, Marlena listened to the recording of their session and started thinking about what Allie had said about Charlie. Marlena looked like she was starting to put the pieces together.

Outside the Brady Pub, Tripp hung one of Ava’s missing persons flyers up. Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) came out of the pub and railed against Tripp, ranting that Ava needed to stay gone and that Tripp should join her.

Tripp insisted that he didn’t rape Allie, but Roman wasn’t having it and he got in Tripp’s face. Just then Kayla came along and shooed Tripp away.

Kayla shared with Roman about what Steve and John were doing and that they had a theory that someone else related to Tripp might have committed the rape. Roman was incredulous, but Kayla said that it was possible and that it might not be so crazy.

In the park, Tripp left Steve a voicemail message saying that he hoped Steve and John could get Angelo to admit that he was the one who raped Allie. Just then, Allie walked up and asked what that phone call was all about.
