Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, March 23, reveals that Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) had some shocking news for Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain), so he delivered it over the phone.
After mentioning how Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) stood Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) up on his wedding day, Jack dropped the bomb about Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) kidnapping Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien).
Jennifer was stunned to learn that according to Gwen, Abigail held her half-sister captive in the DiMera tunnels and nearly drugged her with the same drug given to Abigail. Jack explained that Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) was the only reason Abigail didn’t go through with it.
Jennifer expressed doubt about Gwen’s story, but Jack thought it was true since Abigail was trying to pry a confession out of Gwen. In the end, Jennifer understood and bought the idea that Abigail would be angry enough to fight back.
Jennifer suggested that Abigail had lost her beloved grandmother and wasn’t quite herself right now.
Jack agreed, but he was worried about what would happen when he told Abigail that he wouldn’t turn his back on Gwen. Jack feared he might lose Abigail forever, but Jennifer felt if anyone could negotiate peace between the sisters – it was Jack.
Jennifer assured Jack that they were all in this together.
In the town square on Tuesday’s DOOL episode, Gwen was pleased to see her old Bayview bestie, Claire Brady (Isabel Durant). Claire made it clear she hadn’t missed Gwen and wanted nothing to do with her after the way Gwen had targeted Abigail.
After Claire revealed that she was related to Abigail’s family, she felt like her whole relationship with Gwen had been a lie. Gwen argued that she didn’t know about the connection back when they were friends.
Gwen mentioned how Abigail kidnapped and tried to drug her as well, so Gwen insisted Abigail wasn’t as innocent as she seemed.
Gwen started to walk away, but Claire stopped her and admitted she was no saint. Since Claire wasn’t really in a position to judge, she guessed they could still be friends – but only if Gwen promised not to hurt Abigail again.
Gwen admitted Jack pushed her to promise the same thing. Claire felt Gwen had to put some effort into it with Abigail if she wanted a relationship with her father.
At the pub, Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) talked about how she didn’t think Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) were a good match. Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) didn’t think Kate and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) were a good match either.
Roman pitched himself as a replacement, so Kate thought back on another time when Roman made a play and kissed her while she was married to Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis).
When Roman asked if Kate wanted him to kiss her now, Kate shut that idea down and flashed back on a steamy moment from their Days history.
Kate felt they’d had some fun times, so Roman was hoping they could have more of them. However, Kate assured Roman that she wasn’t just having a fling with Jake. They’d made a commitment and Jake had proven he had Kate’s back over and over.
Kate suggested she had a connection with Jake that no one else understands, so Roman hoped Jake made her happy. “But if he doesn’t, you know where to find me,” Roman added.
At the DiMera mansion, Abigail cornered Gabi in her bedroom to discuss unfinished business. Abigail felt they could still make Gwen pay for everything she’d done, but Gabi wasn’t interested.
Gabi repeatedly rejected Abigail’s attempts to team up, even when Abigail offered the same deal of helping her break up Jake and Kate.
Gabi argued that she was going to focus on her company and warned Abigail not to let revenge turn her into someone else. Gabi felt like Abigail could lose everything and advised her to think of her children.
Gabi insisted that it could all come crashing down and leave Abigail feeling empty inside.
Regardless, Gabi wanted Abigail to leave since she wouldn’t be helping with any schemes. Abigail wondered if this meant they were back to being enemies, but Gabi countered that they weren’t enemies nor were they friends.
Abigail suggested they were frenemies then and was glad they cleared that up.
Downstairs, Jake assured Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) that any feelings Gabi had were not mutual. Chad asked if Jake was sure about that and explained how Kate was like a second mom to him.
Chad didn’t want to see Kate get hurt. Jake reassured Chad and thought he’d be crazy to let a woman like Kate go.
Later, Chad and Abigail talked about their upcoming therapy session, which Abigail was grateful to Chad for getting on board with. Abigail also mentioned how the truce with Gabi was off and that she was concentrating on her company now.
Abigail lied about focusing on the future, too – and after she stayed behind in the living room to read, Chad looked back at her somewhat suspiciously.
Jake stopped by Gabi’s room to acknowledge that they’d be running into each other more often now that Gabi was living there again.
When Jake suggested maybe they could cut down on all the fighting, Gabi quipped that they were so good at it. Nevertheless, Jake was hopeful that maybe they could find a way to get along.
Over with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes), she complained about Xander and Gwen to Doug Williams (Bill Hayes). Doug pushed Julie to count her blessings instead – like the fact that Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) is alive.
Later, Julie excitedly offered Jennifer updates on Ciara’s survival over the phone.
At Lani Price-Grant’s (Sal Stowers) apartment on Tuesday’s Days episode, Lani welcomed Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) and tried her best to explain the godmother situation.
Paulina misunderstood and felt like Lani was worried about offending her mother, Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo).
On Tuesday’s Days of Our Lives episode, Paulina insisted that Lani had nothing to feel guilty about – that “Tammy” was a great person, but Paulina was better godmother material.
If they made a movie called “The Godmother,” Paulina argued that Tamara would have a side part while Paulina had the lead!
Lani kept trying to explain that Julie was the true godmother she’d chosen with Eli Grant (Lamon Archey), but Paulina just wasn’t getting it. “Honey, honey! You don’t have to say another word!” Paulina said.
Paulina insisted that she’d handle Tamara over the phone and get some rest ahead of the christening tomorrow. Paulina left before Lani could explain anything more.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Valerie Williams (Vanessa A. Williams) will be the bearer of bad news soon enough, so stay tuned to see Paulina’s reaction later this week.
