Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Wednesday, April 21, teases that Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) will understand Paulina Price’s (Jackee Harry) perspective, but she may not be sure how she can help.
Chanel Dupree Kiriakis (Precious Way) is a grown woman who made the decision to marry Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer).
It’s not like Chanel was forced into this, so Lani may wonder what Paulina really expects her to do. However, Paulina will push Lani to think of something! She’ll be convinced that Xander poses a serious threat to her daughter, so she’ll at least want Lani to talk Chanel into getting a divorce ASAP.
Of course, Paulina and Lani don’t realize Chanel already wants to end the marriage. As soon as Chanel found out Xander was poor, she couldn’t start looking for a divorce attorney fast enough. It was Xander who suggested Chanel should hold her horses.
Xander doesn’t intend to let Chanel wiggle out of this marriage without getting a little something for his trouble – something to the tune of $10 million!
Chanel will be irritated when Xander first starts rattling off demands and explaining his scheme. It’ll be that massive payout that eventually intrigues Chanel and makes her willing to join forces on a divorce scam.
It seems the plan will be for Xander to act like the big bad wolf his reputation makes him out to be. Meanwhile, Chanel can act like she’s terrified of the menace she’s now married to.
Xander will want $10 million for a clean break – and Chanel can perhaps beg Mommy dearest to pay it so she can escape her ruthless new husband!
This plan is far from foolproof since Paulina knows how her daughter operates, but Chanel and Xander will have high hopes. Across town, Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) will get some surprising updates during a visit with Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson).
Days spoilers say Ben will admit he did something extremely risky when he almost injected Ciara with the memory serum.
Claire may wonder what Ben was thinking since that stuff was invented by Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) the mad scientist. It’s not FDA approved and has led to terrible side effects in some patients, but Ben was willing to roll the dice if it means getting his soulmate back.
It’s killing Ben to know Ciara is somehow so close physically and so far away emotionally.
It turns out Ciara will soon plan to put some physical distance between herself in Ben as well. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Ciara will have an important conversation with Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson), who’ll mention the kiss Ciara planted the other day.
Ciara will assure Theo that lip lock meant a great deal to her – and she’ll make it clear she doesn’t want to be tied to Ben or Salem any longer. Since Theo is headed back home to South Africa, Ciara will want to move with him.
It looks like Ciara will ignore her marriage status and insist she wants to be a real couple with Theo, so he’ll be thrilled once she convinces him it’s her heart’s desire.
After Ben presumably gets a gentle lecture about the dangers of the serum, Claire should offer a pep talk, too. Claire is always great about listening and trying to understand Ben’s point of view.
Claire’s also desperate for Ciara to remember how they made amends, so she’ll get why Ben was so upset he went rogue.
Even so, Claire might push Ben to apologize to Ciara and try a calmer approach. Days spoilers say Ben will show up in Ciara’s hospital room again later. Part of Ciara will be frustrated, but another part of her will be happy for the chance to rub her looming departure in Ben’s face.
Ciara will hope the news about moving away with Theo will make Ben back off permanently.
In the meantime, Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) baby decision will bring a warning from Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). Chad just found out Gwen intends to keep her unborn child, so he’ll respect her choice in Wednesday’s DOOL episode.
Nevertheless, Chad will insist he’s only willing to be a good father and won’t have anything to do with Gwen before that. According to Chad, there’ll be no romantic connection or new family building.
It’ll simply be a matter of Chad being there for his son or daughter and that’s it. Chad will definitely lay down the law when it comes to his daddy terms.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Gwen will soon think she has a better idea. Once next week rolls around, Gwen will resolve to leave town and raise this kid by herself.
That plan could be jeopardized thanks to Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) going off the rails, but there’ll be more drama happening between now and then.
Abigail will find out from Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) that Gwen decided not to terminate the pregnancy. Kayla will fill Abigail in on the blood test confirmation and the sonogram, so Abigail will have a breakdown that brings her emotions pouring out.
Once Abigail gets comfort from Kayla and collects herself, she’ll return to the DiMera mansion. That’s where Abigail and Chad will have yet another argument over Gwen and her bun in the oven.
Chad and Abigail’s marriage will remain incredibly strained, so stay tuned to see if it’ll be destroyed like Abigail predicted.
