Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Wednesday, August 18, teases that EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) will have a furious meltdown while Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) drinks with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will also seek Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) answers after things just don’t add up.
At the DiMera mansion, Johnny will emerge from the DiMera dungeon after apparently wandering down there for old time’s sake. After Johnny embraces EJ, he’ll catch up with his dad and get updates on Sami’s betrayal.
Johnny may not be all that surprised since he knows how his mom operates, but he might hope Sami and EJ can patch things up.
Like Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), Johnny has seen first-hand just how much Sami and EJ love each other – even if they both have flaws and make mistakes.
Nevertheless, EJ will stand his ground when it comes to the divorce and won’t appreciate it when John stops by on a fishing expedition.
After Allie visits John and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) with Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) and Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox), John will grow concerned about Sami’s mysterious disappearance.
John will think EJ might know more than he’s letting on, so he’ll interrogate him at the DiMera mansion.
Unfortunately, John will only succeed in riling EJ up. Once EJ’s alone again, he’ll throw something across the room in a fit of rage.
EJ will be fed up with Sami and all her drama, but is he really tied to her kidnapping? It’s hard to believe EJ would put Sami’s kids through a situation like that – not to mention it seems like Days is being way too obvious about it.
There has to be a more complicated explanation if we go by how Days usually tells mystery storylines.
That brings us to some surprising texts, which will come through on Allie and Marlena’s phones. They’ll hear from Sami – or at least someone claiming to be Sami and may get a bogus explanation for her decision to take off.
Of course, DOOL fans know it wasn’t Sami’s decision at all since she was kidnapped and is now presumably being held hostage somewhere.
Sami’s captor may text her family some lies and excuses so they won’t worry, but there’s a good chance there’ll be lingering concerns anyway – especially after Sami’s gone for an extended period of time.
Back with Johnny, he’ll head to Julie’s Place and spot a beautiful girl that he just has to get to know.
Chanel will be flattered when Johnny takes an interest in her, so they’ll enjoy some fun banter before they “cheers” with their drinks at the bar.
It won’t be long until Chanel’s ready to tell Allie all about this mystery guy, but she won’t know it’s her bestie’s twin brother!
Allie’s bound to be jealous of Chanel and Johnny’s growing bond in the coming weeks.
Until then, Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs) will thwart Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) bio mom admission and keep Paulina’s chance at peace intact.
Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) has decided to forgive Paulina, so they’ll start the slow process of rebuilding trust and bonding again.
Unfortunately, Paulina will already be breaking her promise since Lani asked for a clean slate free of secrets. Lani doesn’t want Paulina lying to her anymore, but her whole life is a lie in a way.
Lani’s always believed Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo) was her biological mother, but it’s Paulina who gave birth to Lani and gave her to her sister for protection.
That shocker’s going to strike for Lani sooner or later, but she’ll focus on repairing her fractured relationship with Paulina for now.
