Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 25, reveals that Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) made a confidential email discovery – and then Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) had a tricky interview with a suspicious Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson). Here’s how it all went down on Wednesday’s DOOL episode.
At Titan, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) told Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) that the jet was all fueled up and ready to go. Brady wanted to whisk Chloe away since they had a new distributor who wanted a face-to-face meeting in New York.
Brady suggested Chloe could see her family while they were there, but Chloe wasn’t sure if Philip would approve of them jetting off like this.
Brady complained about Philip’s “pathetic infantile feelings” and didn’t think it was disrespectful for Chloe to go on a business trip with her boss.
Brady didn’t get why Chloe was fighting him on this, but Chloe had to wonder if Brady really wanted to spend time alone together.
In their bedroom, Gabi talked to Jake about the confidential email Philip was typing, which Gabi was able to see on her laptop through the software she’d installed.
Unfortunately, Philip stopped typing before he got to the issue at hand and left Gabi curious about what was going on.
At Titan, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) interrupted Philip and insisted she was there to stop him from making a terrible mistake.
Kate said Jake was an untrustworthy jerk who would stab Philip in the back, but Philip was counting on Jake to be angry over his own family staging a coup. He felt Jake would be all in on crushing DiMera Enterprises.
The conversation shifted to Kate’s concerns about Philip’s relationship with Chloe before they circled back to Jake.
Kate reiterated that if Philip hired Jake, he would regret it. She gave Philip a hug and hoped he knew she was just looking out for him, so Philip admitted he did.
Back with Gabi, she still wanted to see that email and wondered what Philip might be scrambling to cover up.
Jake felt like there were other ways to pass the time than look at the laptop, so he got frisky with Gabi to distract her and then showered for his follow-up interview at Titan.
Meanwhile, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) gave Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) the cold shoulder in the kitchen and threw a granola bar at him when he hinted about wanting breakfast.
Ava suggested she knew how to make Italian eggs, but she wasn’t going to in case Rafe saw Nicole later.
That led to an argument about Rafe comforting Nicole the other night and missing dinner at home.
Ava argued that it was Nicole’s own fault that she was hurting since she chose to cheat on her husband with Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer).
When Rafe said he wished he’d answered Nicole’s call that night, Ava assumed it was so he could’ve slept with Nicole instead.
Rafe denied it, but Ava wasn’t convinced that he didn’t have feelings for Nicole.
Now that Nicole’s marriage was over, Ava thought it was time for Rafe to be honest with her as well as himself about what he wanted.
“Will you just admit that you want to sleep with Nicole?!” Ava shouted.
Gabi and Jake walked in on the confrontation, but Jake grabbed some granola bars and hustled Gabi toward the door.
However, Gabi pointed out she tried to warn Ava – leaving Rafe to wonder what his sister was talking about.
Once they were alone, Ava admitted that Gabi warned her about Rafe’s feelings for Nicole. Rafe argued that Gabi hated Ava and was just playing mind games, but Ava thought there was some truth to Gabi’s claims.
Ava also felt like Rafe felt obligated to stay with her and added that he wasn’t doing them any favors by denying his true feelings.
At the pub on Wednesday’s Days episode, Nicole found Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and apologized for the party disaster that exposed her cheating.
Roman was upset about Eric’s humiliation and felt Nicole should indeed be sorry, but Nicole pointed out that Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) was also to blame.
Nicole was also confused about Roman’s lack of understanding since he previously disapproved of Eric staying away for so long and suggested Eric could drive Nicole into the arms of another man.
Roman acknowledged that was true, but he still disapproved of how it all went down – especially since Nicole slept with awful Xander.
Roman felt like no matter what Eric’s parting words to Nicole were, he would never be the same. Nicole teared up over Roman being right and felt she was a terrible person who deserved to live in misery for the rest of her life.
Outside the pub, Nicole called Brady to tell him she wouldn’t be in the office this week.
Moments later, Gabi ran into a glum-looking Nicole, who felt like everyone thought she was a horrible person. Gabi argued that Rafe definitely didn’t think that and urged Nicole to pay Rafe a visit so she could lean on him.
Once Jake arrived for his follow-up interview at Titan, Philip admitted that Kate had been there to warn that Jake might be a Trojan horse.
Philip noted that Jake might be trying to get in the door so he could team up with Gabi to take him down. Jake thought that was a reach and suggested if Philip was going to put more stock in his mother’s instincts than his own, they had nothing left to talk about.
As for Gabi on Wednesday’s Days episode, she taunted Ava in the town square about Nicole now being “oh-so available.”
At Rafe’s place, he opened the door to find Nicole standing there.
Back at Titan, Brady offered updates on Nicole being out all week and felt that made it necessary for Chloe to take the trip with him since Nicole couldn’t go in her place.
Chloe pointed out that Brady still hadn’t answered her question about why he really wanted to take this trip with her.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Chloe and Brady’s business trip is going to stir up plenty of trouble, so stick with DOOL.
