Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, February 17 Recap - Xander & Sarah Engaged - Gabi Hits A Snag - Laura Laid To Rest

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 18, reveal that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) walked into the Salem Inn with a boxed cake in tow.

As it turned out, Sarah was exhausted from working on Valentine’s Day, and she and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) talked about the future, now that Xander was done at Titan Industries.

Suddenly, Xander said that he had already made a decision about the future, and he whipped out a ring box and got down on one knee. “Sarah, will you marry me?” Xander asked. Sarah stared, obviously not knowing what to do. Xander continued, saying that he wanted to spend the rest of his life making Sarah happy.

“So, what do you say?” Xander asked. “Um, let’s have cake!” Sarah blurted out. Some comical moments ensued, and eventually Xander opened the cake box.

The cake had “Will You Marry Me?” written on it in icing. “Well, will you?” Sarah asked. Xander said yes, and he and Sarah kissed happily.

At the Horton house, Doug Williams (Bill Hayes), Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain), Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) prepared for Laura Horton’s (Jaime Lyn Bauer) funeral.

Julie tried to get Jennifer to eat her special banana pancakes with peanut butter, but Jennifer refused to eat any, saying that she had a bad experience once.

Jack lamented about kicking Laura when she was down, and Julie said that she wouldn’t listen to Jack beating himself up when this was all Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) fault.

Julie railed against Gwen until Jennifer told her to stop. Together, everyone reminisced about Laura and the life she led. Later, Jennifer mentioned that she was headed to Boston after the funeral to sort Laura’s estate out.

At the DiMera mansion, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) comforted Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller). Abigail was upset with Gwen and vowed to make her pay, and when Abigail broke down, Chad hugged her and urged her to let him go with her to the funeral.

Just then, Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) walked in, and Abigail asked Chad to accompany her to the funeral.

After Abigail and Chad left, Jake asked Kate if she had decided to come work with him at DiMera Enterprises, and Kate said that she hadn’t. Kate checked the news and saw that Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) was now the sole CEO of Titan Industries. Jake took off, again urging Kate to come work with him.

At the Titan CEO office, Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) walked in and found Philip there. Philip explained that Xander was out of the company, and Gabi urged Philip to look over her GabiChic proposal. Just then, Kate walked in and Gabi snarked at Kate, then left urging Philip to look over her proposal.

In town square, Gwen was reading a Spectator article on Laura’s death and noting to herself that she wasn’t sorry for Jennifer’s loss when Jake walked up. Jake blasted Gwen for achieving a new low – killing the “granny.” Jake also said that he knew that Gwen had drugged Abigail, and that he was disgusted.

Jake called Gwen trash, and he noted that she seemed scared because now she might actually have to pay for something she’s done. Gwen said that she wasn’t scared and that she didn’t owe Jake any explanations, and she took off. Later, Jake was leaving the scene, when Gabi walked up.

At the cemetery, Jennifer, Jack, Abigail, and Chad congregated at Laura’s gravesite after the service and burial. Jennifer broke down and started sobbing, and Jack offered to take her home, but Jennifer said that she wanted to be with people who loved Laura. Jack and Jennifer headed to Julie’s Place.

Chad and Abigail stayed behind, and soon Chad left to go check on the kids. Abigail talked to Laura’s grave, saying that she promised that Gwen wouldn’t get away with what she did. Just then, Gwen walked up and stared down Abigail.

At Julie’s Place, Jack and Jennifer sat and talked, and Jennifer said that her brother Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow) would pick her up at the airport in Boston when she arrived. Doug and Julie came along with champagne flutes, and together the quad toasted to Laura.
