Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, June 2 Recap – Clyde Pushes Ben to Fight for Ciara – Jan Rigs Booby Trap to Kill Claire

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, June 2, reveals that Clyde Weston (James Read) pushed Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) to fight for Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal). Meanwhile, Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) rigged a fire booby trap to kill Claire Brady (Isabel Durant)!

At Statesville on Wednesday’s Days episode, Ben admitted to Clyde that he felt like he was losing his mind. He came clean about seeing Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Stause) – but not as a ghost.

Ben explained that it was more like a hallucination where she talks to him and claims she’s a representation of his guilty conscience.

Clyde argued that Ben had atoned for his past over and over, but Ben suggested this was about something new: almost cheating on his wife, Ciara. After Ben told the story, Clyde didn’t see why Ben was freaking out since he put a stop to things with Claire following her kiss.

However, Ben pointed out that Jordan kept taunting him – acting like it’d be his fault if Claire died. Clyde suggested he was no shrink, but he didn’t think it was healthy for Ben to be listening to his dead sister.

Clyde pushed Ben to take action in his marriage instead. Clyde declared that Ben should get on a plane to South Africa and go get his wife!

As much as Ben wanted to do that, he felt he had to give Ciara space to figure things out. Clyde reminded Ben of how Ciara fought her way into the prison and saved his life at gunpoint.

“That’s love!” Clyde declared. He argued that what Ben and Ciara have is fate, so he was rooting for them.

In the meantime, Clyde felt like Ben should get on his motorcycle and hit the open road. He thought it’d help to make the voices in Ben’s head go away. Ben ultimately decided that was a good idea and hugged his dad for helping him out.

At the cabin, Jan returned with supplies from the general store and talked about how clean the air was up there. She was chipper as she spoke to Claire and Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), who were bound and gagged as her hostages.

Jan pointed out that this was the charred cabin where Claire tried to set Ciara on fire twice. Claire argued she wasn’t that person anymore, but Jan wanted this location to be a reminder that Claire was no better than her – and Belle Brady (Martha Madison) was no better either.

Chloe and Claire found out the news that Belle had confessed to Charlie Dale’s (Mike Manning) murder.

Since Jan didn’t need Claire as her bargaining chip any longer, Claire was hopeful about gaining her freedom. Unfortunately, Jan insisted that Claire knew the truth – that Jan was the one who killed Charlie.

That’d mess up Jan’s plans with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), but Jan was unwilling to kill Claire herself.

Jan tasked Chloe with doing it instead, so Claire pushed Chloe to go ahead for her son’s sake. She subtly tried to make Chloe understand that she had to take that gun.

Chloe got the picture and hoped to gain control of Jan’s weapon, but Jan found a knife to hand over. That left Claire freaking out a bit, but Chloe obviously couldn’t go through with killing Claire.

In the end, Jan griped about Chloe being useless and decided she needed a way to get rid of them both. At the Salem PD, DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) was suspicious over Belle’s sudden change of heart.

Trask insisted that before she’d have a press conference, Belle had to make her confession official by changing her plea and being remanded to Statesville to await sentencing.

While Trask was off working out the details, Shawn got updates from Belle and hoped there was some other way. Despite Shawn’s concerns, Belle felt she had to do this for Claire’s sake and made sure her husband would back her up.

Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) was brought in the loop as well – and later, Shawn took a picture of Belle in her prison garb at Statesville.

Once Jan received a text containing that pic, she was pleased – though she admitted she couldn’t keep her end of the bargain. Jan felt like Shawn would never truly love her, so she made another plan.

As Jan held Chloe at gunpoint, she warned that there was going to be some collateral damage.

DOOL fans then saw that Claire was still held captive at the cabin. There was a booby trap set up that would send a lantern crashing onto the floor where there was an overturned gasoline can.

It was rigged to start the fire when the door was opened. As Ben approached outside, he slowly reached for the doorknob.

Back with Philip, he told Trask she was an idiot since Belle’s guilty plea was only about protecting Claire. Philip insisted that Jan was the true killer as Trask stood there looking stunned.

In the town square, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) ran into Marlena and introduced herself as Tamara Price’s (Marilyn McCoo) little sister. Marlena had a moment of recognition and remembered Paulina from when she was younger.

After they embraced on Wednesday’s Days episode, Paulina talked about how much she used to look up to Marlena. Her kind words were exactly what Marlena needed to hear since she was having a tough day.

Paulina and Marlena commiserated over having some daughter struggles lately. Marlena confessed that her granddaughter was kidnapped as well, but Paulina had faith it would all work out.

Talk turned to Paulina’s plans for the town square. She was hoping to interconnect all the storefronts and offer reasonable rents to all business owners.

Paulina told Marlena that she hoped to represent the true diversity of Salem, so Marlena thought that sounded ambitious and amazing.

Marlena told Paulina about Tom Horton (Macdonald Carey) and Alice Horton’s (Frances Reid) connection to the square before explaining the Grant twins were their great-great-great grandchildren.

Paulina realized the square was Jules Grant and Carver Grant’s legacy, so she vowed to do her best to honor Tom and Alice with her work.

After Marlena left, Paulina thought to herself that Tom and Alice seemed like lovely people. She almost felt guilty about her real plans for that little square of theirs! As other Days details come in, we’ll keep you posted.
