Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, March 17, reveals that Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) had something on her mind as she talked to Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) about Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) being arrested for Charlie Dale’s (Mike Manning) murder.
When Tripp suggested that meant they could all move on, Ava hinted that she couldn’t do that just yet.
Suddenly, Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) sauntered in and ranted about Ava being in the way of her coffee. Moments later, Gabi discovered Ava had eaten the last bagel, so she flew off the handle.
Since Charlie’s dead, Gabi didn’t see why Ava should still be at Rafe’s house at all.
Ava reminded Gabi that it was actually Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) house and that he’d invited her to stay. Gabi mentioned how she saw Ava slip out the backdoor the night Charlie died. It led to some conflict, but Tripp did his best to intervene.
After Ava admitted she was being kicked out of her apartment, Gabi decided she’d just move out instead.
Once Tripp was alone with Ava again on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, she admitted she hadn’t been completely honest. Ava was running the Vitali mob family when she first returned from Nashville, but she credited Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) for convincing her she’d lose Tripp if she didn’t walk away.
Ava washed her hands of it all, but she’s been cut off financially – and that’s why she was booted from the apartment. Tripp assumed this is what Ava was trying to tell him before, so she somewhat unconvincingly said it was.
At the DiMera mansion on Wednesday’s Days of Our Lives episode, Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) had a steamy dream about Gabi, who put her body on top of his on the sofa. Jake reminded Gabi that he’d rejected her, but she didn’t buy the idea that he really wanted that.
As Gabi leaned in close, Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) appeared and woke Jake up. Kate mentioned that Jake had said Gabi’s name in his sleep, so they had another argument about her.
Jake was fed up, so Kate wondered if he was breaking things off. However, Jake was simply done arguing about Gabi since he really thought he’d gotten through to her this time.
Rafe showed up to announce that the bullet that shot Charlie came from Kate’s gun, but she felt there must be some mistake. Against Jake’s wishes, Kate retrieved the locked box from upstairs and invited Rafe to open it since she had nothing to hide.
When Rafe indeed popped it open, Kate was stunned to realize the gun really was missing.
Kate insisted it must’ve been stolen, but Rafe felt like Kate was the only one in the house with a motive to kill Charlie. After Rafe took the box to dust for fingerprints, Kate swore to Jake that she was innocent – and Jake believed her.
Jake wondered if Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) might’ve taken the gun, but Kate argued that Lucas didn’t even know where it was. Kate’s mind eventually drifted back to after Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) stole her gun to use on Tripp, so this grandma looked concerned.
Back with Rafe, he thought about Kate’s suggestion that the gun was stolen – and then flashed back to confronting Allie about the stolen weapon the first time around.
At the hospital, Allie acted offended that Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) would even think she murdered Charlie – and that she’d let her own mom go down for it. Claire was concerned since Allie still wasn’t answering the question of whether she killed Charlie.
Claire noted she wouldn’t blame Allie and would keep her secret if she was the killer, but Allie took off to go take over for the babysitter.
Once Allie was at home, Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) mentioned the new evidence that could point away from Sami. Allie grew worried about the idea of another suspect, so Nicole was perplexed by why she wasn’t happier.
Allie acted like she just didn’t want to get her hopes up. After Nicole left the room, Allie had a flashback of getting the gun out of Kate’s armoire.
In Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) hospital room, she continued to flip out on Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson). Ben assured Ciara that he loved her, but she just wanted the necktie killer to get away from her.
Ciara frantically pressed the help button until Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) appeared and forced Ben to leave.
Kayla questioned Ciara to figure out what else she knew about Ben besides his crimes. Ciara wondered what else she should know and was confused about what Kayla was hiding.
Kayla wouldn’t say much other than Ciara seemed to have some memory gaps. She just wanted Ciara to rest and focus on her health.
In the waiting area on Wednesday’s Days episode, Ben filled Claire in on Ciara’s freak-out and argued that as much as Ciara loved him before – that’s how much she hated him now.
After Kayla explained that Ciara appeared to be having some selective memory loss, Ben feared what would happen if it was permanent instead of temporary.
Kayla pushed Ben to be patient and remember how far he’s come with Ciara. Ben insisted Ciara just has to remember him. He did his best to keep the faith, but he looked worried.
Claire got permission to go in Ciara’s room, where Ciara had an angry reaction to the sight of her. “Of course I remember you. You’re that bitch who slept with my boyfriend, Tripp,” Ciara hissed.
We’ll deliver updates as other Days news pops up. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Ben will fight to help Ciara remember in the week ahead, but more DOOL hurdles are looming.
