Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for Wednesday, May 19, reveals that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) saved Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) with a massive Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) payment.
Meanwhile, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) demanded her freedom in exchange for Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin)!
At home on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) was embarrassed when he realized Chanel Dupree (Precious Way) caught him with his towel dropped.
After Eli covered up again, Chanel insisted it was fine since she’d spent a lot of time on nude beaches in Europe. She joked around with Eli, who was eager to move on from this conversation.
Chanel eventually told Eli the story of kissing the girl she knew from London. Eli could tell that Chanel was really hurting, so she admitted she couldn’t imagine finding someone she connected with in the same way.
Chanel knew she was supposed to be the “good-time party girl” and not let her guard down, but Eli teased that maybe it was easier to bare her soul to someone she just saw half-naked.
Chanel talked about being jealous of the happiness Eli and Lani have together. She bed Eli was glad that Lani and her nun friend decided to stay celibate in Italy. That caught Eli off guard, so he asked if Chanel was saying that Lani and Kristen almost hooked up.
Eli wondered if Chanel knew something he didn’t, but she was just teasing and thought Lani was too in love with Eli to have eyes for anyone else.
Eli said it was the same for Kristen and her man, but that had gotten her into some trouble. Chanel remembered hearing about Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) car accident, so Eli revealed that Kristen had taken her love to a dangerous level.
Eli just hoped they could take Kristen into custody before she hurt anyone else, especially Lani.
Chanel was surprised to learn Lani previously let Kristen go free and put her marriage as well as her career at risk. In the park, Lani pushed Kristen not to make this harder than it already was.
Lani told Kristen she was under arrest, so Kristen took off her disguise and decided not to fight it. However, Kristen did have one favor to ask and hoped she could meet the twins.
After Kristen gushed over Carver Grant and Jules Grant, she got emotional and wished she could’ve been a mom to Rachel alongside Lani. Kristen cried about how she never meant to hurt anybody.
Kristen just got so caught up in trying not to lose Brady. Kristen felt like Lani must be ashamed of her, but Lani promised that they forged an unbreakable at the convent and nothing would change their friendship.
Kristen offered her hands so Lani could put the cuffs on her, but Lani pulled Kristen into a warm embrace first. Afterward, Lani called Eli to offer updates on finding Kristen and taking her into custody, so Eli headed to the Salem PD.
Chanel gazed at Eli and Lani’s framed photo once she was alone and hoped her cousin appreciated what she great guy she married.
Eli ultimately sat Kristen down in the interrogation room and assumed she’d want her lawyer. Kristen said that wouldn’t be necessary, so Eli suggested he could just have her sent back to Statesville if she didn’t want to fight the charges.
Kristen got a sly smile and argued that she wasn’t going back to Statesville since if she did, no one would ever see Chloe again.
At the hospital on Wednesday’s Days episode, Brady worried about Chloe’s safety and couldn’t make sense of Sami’s brain tumor scheme with Lucas. All Brady knew was that he’d never forgive himself if something happened to Chloe.
Brady convinced Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) to go ask around at the DiMera mansion and see what she could find out.
After Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) ran into Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus), he found out that Gabi had gotten back together with Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash).
Gabi admitted she was uncertain of their status now that things were so up in the air with Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow).
Jake caught up with Gabi, who assured him she’d understand if he wanted to reunite with Kate under the circumstances. Although Jake was overwhelmed by his emotions, he made it clear that Gabi was still the woman he wanted and pulled her close.
Next, Philip found out Chloe was in danger and worried Brady might’ve sent Marlena straight into danger, too. In the DiMera cellar, Sami insisted she was willing to pay double whatever Kristen was paying Xander to kill her along with Lucas.
Xander decided he’d need $10 million if Sami and Lucas wanted to live.
Sami was indeed willing to pay, but she needed EJ DiMera to sign off on it – and she was reluctant to make the call to the sensitive situation with Lucas.
Nevertheless, Sami ultimately decided she could tell EJ that she caught onto Kristen separately and that she only wound up down in the secret room with Lucas afterward.
Xander gave Sami the phone, so she called EJ and got choked up as she insisted she needed $10 million. Sami promised to explain everything later and assured EJ of her love.
Once Xander got a notification on his phone that the money had been transferred into his account, he told Sami that a deal was a deal – though he wanted assurance that Sami and Lucas would keep their mouths shut.
After Xander left on Wednesday’s Days episode, Lucas and Sami discussed their next move. They both knew EJ would have more questions, but Lucas suggested Sami could tell EJ whatever she had to – just as long as EJ didn’t find out Kristen was blackmailing because they slept together…twice.
Lucas felt like EJ would be the one to kill them if he found out!
As Xander was coming out of the secret panel, Marlena spotted him and questioned what he was doing there with a gun. Xander smiled smugly and told Dr. Evans it was always nice to see her before taking off.
