At the Kiriakis mansion on Wednesday’s Days episode, Brady ranted about Philip being crazy jealous. Brady argued that Philip was thinking about Chloe constantly and felt it wouldn’t be long until that affected the business.
Philip spent more time in Brady’s office than his own according to Brady, but Victor said that situation was about to change. He felt there was only one way to get Philip’s head back in the business – and that was by removing Chloe from the equation.
On Wednesday’s Days episode, Victor revealed that he wanted Brady to steal Chloe away from Philip. Brady wondered if Victor seriously wanted him to make a play for Chloe, who Victor hated.
Victor didn’t love the idea of Brady being with Chloe either, but he felt like it’d be better than Brady getting back together with a “mental case” like Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). Victor insisted Brady should seduce Chloe until she cracks.
At the Horton house, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) showed up with an apology for Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien). Abigail admitted she didn’t see Gwen’s baby as a person before, but she now understood that baby was a human being and that Gwen deserved to be a mom to her. From mother to mother, Abigail was sorry.
Gwen mentioned how she told Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) that Abigail didn’t push her down the stairs, so Abigail said Jack told Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) who then told her, too. Gwen was apologetic as well since she now understood Abigail didn’t mean any harm.
Abigail still felt she had to live with the consequences of chasing after Gwen that day. She suggested Gwen would be nine months pregnant if she hadn’t, so Gwen replied that she knew what it was like to live with the burden of guilt. Abigail was glad they could get everything out in the open since she hated letting things fester.
In Xander Cook Kiriakis’ (Paul Telfer) hotel room, he frantically bickered with Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) over the phone. Xander said he was flat broke and living on credit, so he needed to get his hands on his money or soon the cops were going to come banging on his door.
Suddenly, someone indeed banged on the door, but it was just Jack – and he was there to apologize. Jack said Gwen told him everything, so Xander was surprised that Jack had been able to get past it.
When Xander brought up Abigail, Jack wondered what she had to do with Gwen being a prostitute. Xander realized Gwen went with his hooker story instead of the truth, so he acted like he just worried Jack would always see Gwen as the bad daughter if he knew her history.
Jack assured Xander that they were no longer on the outs and was impressed over how Xander stuck up for Gwen. That said, Jack suspected there was more than casual friendship going on and asked what Xander’s intentions were with his daughter.
Before Xander could share if he was interested in Gwen, someone knocked at the door. Xander feared it was the front desk coming to demand rent and grabbed Jack before covering his mouth. After Gwen announced her presence outside, Xander opened the door.
Gwen then learned that Jack and Xander had patched things up. Jack decided he should be going and left, so Xander admitted to Gwen that he almost mucked up Gwen’s life just now! Gwen was relieved that Xander hadn’t blown it and was glad to still be on good terms with Jack. Now all that was left to talk about was where this left Xander and Gwen.
At the Hernandez house, Gabi let Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) taste the tamales she made and learned he was keeping tabs on Brady. Jake refused to go into the details, but both Jake and Gabi were hopeful that Brady’s latest meeting with Victor would work out in their favor.
Gabi suggested it was only a matter of time before Philip was out and they were running Titan. As Gabi and Jake kissed, Ava appeared and hinted that they should get a room.
Ava and Gabi wound up clashing over their pasts before the topic of Gabi and Jake’s living arrangement came up. Gabi decided she was “over this bitch’s crap” and dashed off to start packing with Jake. Once Ava was alone, she thought back to eavesdropping on Jake and Gabi’s earlier conversation. Ava remembered hearing them plotting against Philip and texted him for a meeting.
Back with Jake and Gabi, he convinced her to try some of Sweet Bits Bakery’s treats as they discussed where they were going to live. Jake figured they’d land at the Salem Inn for now, but Gabi refused to rub shoulders with everyone else in town.
Gabi said she had an idea instead – and afterward, Gabi showed up at the DiMera mansion with Jake. They found Abigail and told her she’d be the first to hear the good news that they were moving back in.
Meanwhile, Philip took Chloe on a romantic picnic and reminisced about it being their old spot – the place where they carved their initials on a nearby tree. Unfortunately, Philip got angry over Chloe being with Brady years later and chopped that tree down.
Philip showed Chloe the sapling he’d purchased so they could plant it in the same spot. He couldn’t erase his past mistakes, but he wanted this to be the start of a new, better beginning. Philip thought they could carve their initials in this tree once it was big enough and suggested that showed how much faith he had in them as a couple.
Chloe was impressed and shared a kiss with Philip before he got Ava’s text. Philip wound up at the Hernandez house, where Ava said she thought Philip might like to know in advance that Gabi was plotting against him.
Back with Victor on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, he asked if Brady was going to take Chloe away from Philip or not. Chloe entered in time to overhear Victor and said she’d like to know the answer to that question, too.
