Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) are set to be paired up this summer, so will Daddy Xander give Gwen a second chance baby? DOOL fans know Gwen was thrown for a loop when she realized she was pregnant by Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). It wasn’t part of Gwen’s scheme, but she quickly embraced the idea of motherhood.
Gwen wanted to give her child all the love she never had growing up, but her dream was dashed when she suffered a tragic miscarriage.
Meanwhile, we’ve got Xander, who played daddy to Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton aka Rachel Black (Josephine and Rosalind May) once upon a time.
Xander was quite sweet with little Mickey before the paternity deception came out – and then the much bigger secret of the baby switch was exposed as well.
Still, Xander was raising Mackenzie at one point, so there must be part of him that misses fatherhood. He expected to build a family with Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) one day, but his own dreams were shattered due to Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) twisted island plot.
Xander believes Sarah dumped him and has reverted to his bad boy tendencies in the aftermath.
Of course, maybe there’s some room for middle ground here. Xander could perhaps keep his fun mischievous side while settling down enough to be a good dad.
Since Days spoilers say Gwen and Xander are headed into passionate territory this summer, it’s easy to see the potential for an unplanned pregnancy.
Gwen might get another opportunity at a baby – perhaps even with a man she genuinely falls for.
Gwen and Xander could become a strong Days couple, especially if they have an unborn child to prepare for and bring them closer. It’d be interesting to watch Xander and Gwen navigate that next chapter.
