The end of DOOL’s fall preview video offers a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shocking moment where Xander tells Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) this stunning news.
Back when Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was masquerading as Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk), Sarah found out what she was up to.
Since Kristen wasn’t ready to end her charade and couldn’t let Sarah rat her out, she came up with a cruel alternative plan.
Sarah was shipped off to Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) private island, where she’s been stuck ever since.
Of course, Xander thinks Sarah simply dumped him and ran off with her former flame, but Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) will return to clear things up on his end. “Sarah” never left town with Rex at all since that was Kristen wearing a Sarah mask.
It was all part of Kristen’s twisted plan, so Xander will start putting the pieces together and realize Sarah didn’t leave him at the altar.
Xander was madly in love with Sarah before their engagement imploded, so it’ll be a game-changer when Xander discovers that there’s still hope for a future with her.
Naturally, Gwen is falling hard for Xander and will have to wonder what this means for her.
Sarah brought out the best in Xander whereas Gwen provides more of a haven where Xander can be himself without judgment.
Each Days romance brings something different to the table, but it’s clear that Xander’s love for Sarah is stronger at this point.
Even so, reconnecting may not be as easy as Xander might’ve hoped. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out, but first thing’s first!
Xander will have to track Sarah down on this remote island and bring her home ASAP. It appears Rex may pitch in on the rescue as we build to some exciting moments.
Days spoilers say Xander and Sarah’s love story will have a chance to continue, though it does look like a recast will be part of that journey moving forward.
