In tonight’s FBI episode, several men are gunned down while drinking and playing cards at a local hot restaurant after closing. At the office, Maggie runs into Elise who tells her she is taking some time off. She is all right with it. Jubial talks with an associate who has become the acting ADIC, Rina. He apologizes for canceling their plans. His son is still undergoing chemo.
Jubial gets a call about the death of 5 men. The team gets to work. OA and Maggie visit the restaurant. They discover an employee of interest who tries to run from Scola and Tiffany. He tells them he saw the shooter. He is afraid he will be gunned down next. The team learns that watches and money were stolen. As they further investigate the owner, who was killed with the other men, they learn he is the son of a cartel leader, Antonio Vargas. The team believes he may be the target.
Isobel asks the new ADIC, Rina, to pursue the cater leader’s wife. She tells her no. Meanwhile, OA and Maggie get into a high-speed chase with a person of interest. They get their man Miguel. His weapon matches that of the killers. They take him in for interrogation and offer him a deal. They want Vargas. Miguel shares that his boss is coming to New York. The team gets planning. The ADIC tells Jubial to be cautious as Isobel has been chasing Vargas for a long time and will ruin their career over this.
Maggie discusses the meeting area and how it has too many exits and openings. Meanwhile, Isobel tells Elise about Vargas. She begins to cry. Jubial questions Isobel’s plans. Rina wouldn’t like them. Isobel reminds him she is the boss.
The team moves in for Vargas to arrive. They send Miguel in. Isobel and the team watch from headquarters. Just as they ID Vargas, he shoots Miguel. The team arrives to take him in. They bring Vargas in. Miguel is brought to the surgery and comes out stable.
Rina gets angry at Isobel for using Miguel. They both meet him in interrogation. He tells them he has 3 bombs at Grand Central Station. He has them set to explode unless he disables them.
The team checks out what Vargas has shared. He isn’t lying and the bombs are all very sophisticated. They work to evacuate the areas but they are running out of time. They offer him some time off of his assumed sentence. He wants to be released. His bombs will do infrastructure damage as well.
Isobel thinks they need to find Vargas’ wife and another son. They can use them as leverage. Rina doesn’t think this is a good idea. OA and Maggie go on the hunt in Mexico City. They find their home. It is heavily guarded. OA has a plan. They set off a car alarm while Maggie gets inside. She gets eyes on the wife as Rina is ready to call it. Isobel gets the codes for the bombs from Vargas.
The codes don’t immediately stop the bombs. The FBI runs. There isn’t anymore else they can do. They all wait in horror. The bombs stop. They all celebrate. They hold a press conference. Isobel comforts Elise. After, Rina tells Isobel she has accepted the ADIC position. She leaves and goes out of Jubial.
