Special Agent Scott Forrester was at the scene when a boy was abducted. He tried to stop the kidnapping which happened in broad daylight and was almost run over. Forrester had been with one of his subordinates. Special Agent Jamie Kellett worked under Forrester. She was also sleeping with Forrester and no one knew about it. But the agents stood together publicly to solve the abduction. The body that was taken was an American citizen. His name is David Milgrave and he was the son of Gary and Katya Milgrave. Milgrave married an Eastern European woman. They had a child together and then they broke up. His ex-wife claimed he was abusive. She also said that he started to hit their son and so she ran off with the son when a judge awarded them joint custody. The mother freaked. She ran off with the son back to her home country and now the body was taken.

The natural suspect was his father. His father was a rich man after all and he could afford to have his son abducted in order to have him brought back home to the States. His ex-wife couldn’t return to the country. There was an outstanding warrant against her and so she would be arrested if she ever tried to come back to get her son but there was another side of this situation. Forrester said that the mother couldn’t be believed just on her word. She could be making up the allegations of abuse. She could have done in her divorce in order to get as much as she could and she could have taken her son out of vindictive spite. Forrester wasn’t quick to just accept her word. His team on the other hand sympathized with the mother.

They didn’t believe she would lie or that she would arrange to have her own son kidnapped. Which was another possibility. There was a good chance that she arranged the kidnapping to throw dirt on her husband or to get more money out of him. Forrester was open to all possibilities. The only concerning thing was that the boy has epilepsy. He needs his medication every few hours and he had been kidnapped without it. Forrester wanted to find the boy. He also wanted to do things his way and that wasn’t flying with the Hungarian police. The kidnapping happened on their turf in broad daylight. The mother was also one of them and so they wanted to get to the boy first. Forrester claimed jurisdiction because the boy was American.

Forrester also had his friend from Europol smooth things over. He wanted to find the boy and they came close to getting him back. They spotted a boy at the train station with his abductors. They tried to free him and the abductors proved they weren’t afraid of shooting their way out of the situation. The boy was taken before he could be released. One of the abductors ran off with the boy and the other was captured. The man they arrested didn’t want to talk. He was a part of a group called Dad’s Pride and they were a Christian group that believes children deserve to be with their fathers because their mothers couldn’t be trusted. It was a bunch of incels really. They kidnapped the boy because the father was rich and they hated the fact that the mother got away with him.

The group involved in this kidnapping proved that Katya wasn’t involved. It just didn’t verify her information about everything else and so the team spoke with Milgrave. He was in the country “unexpectedly”. He claims not to know anything about the kidnapping. He also called Katya a liar. He claims not to have ever abused her or their son. He said that Katya was guilty of parental alienation. She was trying to turn their son against him. But the FBI didn’t believe him. It turns out parental alienation has been largely questioned in certain courts and Forrester was against it. He has a complicated relationship with his parents. His father worked in the government and so did his mother until she turned judas.

His mother was Angela Cassidy. She sold information to the Russians in ‘O4 and disappeared without a trace in ’05. Forrester doesn’t discuss his mother. The newest member of the team only found about it because Kellet let it slip. Kellet wanted Vindotto to understand why Forrester didn’t believe the mother at first and it helped clear things up for her. The federal agents later questioned Milgrave again. They used the opportunity to plant a tracker in his phone and then used it to follow him to the exchange place where he got David. They tried to stop him from escaping when he made it off in his car with David. The agents followed him and they later found Milgrave’s car on the cliff. He and his son were still inside. Milgrave was apparently considering suicide because he didn’t want Katya to have David.

Milgrave would rather murder his son than let his mother have him. Thankfully, Kellet hit the car before it could go over the cliff and they got David’s medication to him on time. David was saved. He was also asked about an incident with his father. David told Forrester that his father hurt him and he did so without the influence of his mother around. It turns out Katya was telling the truth. Her ex-husband is abusive. She got a restraining order against him and Kellet helped get the warrant against her dismissed.

Kellet also heard back about the job she applied for back in the States. She had gotten the job and now she has to think about whether or she’s willing to give up that job for Forrester.

THE END
