In tonight’s FBI International episode, an American woman went missing abroad. The victim’s name is Bridget Rapp and she’s a US Intelligence negotiator. She has Q-clearance. It’s the highest clearance there is and she knew all of America as well as the Middle East’s nuclear secrets. But she’s missing. Rapp’s apartment was found in disarray with blood everywhere and so there’s a chance she was either dead or needing help.
Her co-workers found her apartment in such a state. They notified US Intelligence and they in turn contacted FBI Special Agent Forrester’s team. Forrester’s people quickly took action. They flew to Paris where Rapp lived. They checked the apartment. The checked security cameras right outside and they soon learned that Rapp had taken a stranger home with her.
Which was a big no no! Rapp’s security clearance means she has to get every date checked out before she could be alone with them and so she wasn’t supposed to be meeting strangers or taking them home. Rapp’s apartment was also staged. The blood was collected over time with a special chemical to stop it from freezing up and that’s why blood on the scene looked so fresh hours after the fact and so that meant one thing.
Rapp wasn’t taken. She’s gone rouge. Rapp purposely made her disappearance look like she was taken. She participated in abnormal behavior. She’s out and about. She made everyone think she would go missing because then they would think she was bleeding out somewhere. They wouldn’t catch on that she was simply walking around everywhere.
The team used facial recognition. They quickly found footage of Rapp exiting from a bank that morning and she hasn’t been spotted since. Some agents went to the bank. They learned that Rapp withdrew a million euros in all cash and the bank wasn’t even Rapp’s bank. It was a secret account.
Many assumed that Rapp was betraying her country or about to for money and so a kill order was sent. The Americans wanted her captured but they’ll settle for killing her if that wasn’t possible because Rapp knew where their missiles were located in Europe and could sell the information. Forrester went digging through Rapp’s life. They searched all her books when they found a cute letter and Forrester instantly realized that Rapp was in fact seeing someone.
It just wasn’t the guy she brought home. That guy was a diversion. Rapp pretended to be drunk to interest him and then took him where she quickly “sobered” up. She had that guy leave through the garage so that he wouldn’t be spotted on the cameras. But Rapp was dating someone.
She was dating the former Iranian Nuclear negotiator. He was replaced by a hardliner by the Iranians because Ali Majidi gave the Americans too much back in 2015 and so Ali was in town during the recent negotiations. Forrester questioned him with Jamie’s help. They found out that Ali’s people already knew about the relationship and that they tried to use that to pressure her into spying on Americans. When that didn’t work, they tried to blackmail her.
Rapp inadvertently revealed two Iranians that were spying on Iran for the Americans. Those two people were captured and executed. Rapp was told by the Iranians that they would claim she happily gave over that information if she didn’t spy for them. But she didn’t want to do that. Ali claims he gave her money to go on the run and what he failed to mention is that he planned on running away with her. The team didn’t find out that until much later on. They found out that Ali and Rapp planned on fleeing together and now she has to leave without him because the Iranians found out Ali was speaking to the Americans. He apparently told them too much because he was “reassigned”.
In other words, they killed him. Rapp must have figured out that when Ali failed to make it to the extraction point and that created an issue. The team did a profile on Rapp. They found out she was buying illegal anti-psychotics and that she wasn’t mentally well. They figured Rapp would try to kill herself once she realized Ali wasn’t coming. They thought Rapp would try to jump from the bridge where all those lovers put a key lock, but she actually tried to kill herself from a bridge much further away that was far more intimate. Forester and Jamie found her there. They tried to talk her down and, when that didn’t work, they simply grabbed her. They physically stopped her from killing herself. They told her that the Americans wouldn’t execute if she wasn’t mentally well.
They failed to mention that she would most likely get locked up in an asylum where she’ll never be allowed to leave. Not with all that she knew. Forrester called it in and she was secured by the Americans. Forrester had one final word with her, though. He wanted to know what made her turn against her country and Forrester was asking as a son and not as an FBI agent. Forrester’s mother betrayed her country. Forrester was trying to understand his mother’s mindset and so he asked about motives. And Rapp said she did it for love.
Forrester later put up a flier for mental health but no one decided to use it because Forrester wouldn’t be the only boss they ever had and they didn’t want to risk their careers by asking for help.
Forrester was later found looking into his mother’s case and so they shut him out of the intelligence surrounding it and warned him that he’s no longer allowed to carry out any private investigations into the matter. And so that made him curious.
THE END!
