General Hospital spoilers tease that in the sneak peek for Tuesday, June 1, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will pay Peter August (Wes Ramsey) a visit with an objective in mind, and it won’t escape the notice of Peter. By the end of her visit Anna will realize Peter is planning to leave Port Charles.
General Hospital viewers will recall from a recent episode of General Hospital that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) had spotted Peter’s bag packed and ready to go when he warned him not to mess with his daughter – the one he thinks Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) is expecting, although he would kill him if he messed with Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) as well.
Valentin had given Anna a heads-up that he thought Peter might be getting ready to go on the run. Then, after Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) had gone on a short walk around the grounds of the Quartermaine mansion with Willow Tait, (Katelyn MacMullen) he had another relapse and collapsed.
Luckily for Chase, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) was close by and caught him before he hit the floor, and the two got him to General Hospital where Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) took him back to try and stabilize him.
Once again, another dose of antidote was needed and Anna was notified to go get one from Peter! So, Anna was not exactly surprised to find out that Peter has sold “The Invader” when she arrives at his office. Peter tells her he sold it to a private investor and he will no longer have an office there.
Peter tells her that he did manage to make a profit although the transaction took place quickly. Anna smiles at him, and congratulates him. She says it will be a great loss to journalism, although her comment is probably disguised sarcasm.
Peter tells Anna it’s probably not really that much of a loss, especially when the only reason of his having something like that was in order to portray himself as an upstanding member of society.
General Hospital viewers will recall when he first came to town, he had gotten a job at Aurora Media as an editor and writer. That certainly went south when Drew Cain (Billy Miller) disappeared, as General Hospital viewers will recall, thanks to Peter himself.
That is when Peter bought “The Invader”. Peter then rather sarcastically remarks to Anna that she and Valentin did a really nice job of ruining his career and life.
Peter then walks across the room to a credenza where he fiddles with a drawer for a minute and then walks back towards Anna with a bunch of files he pulled from the drawer.
Anna tells him she thinks he did a fine job of ruining his life all by himself, having all his crimes in mind. She also reminds him of how many chances he had been given to improve himself, and what he had done with them, basically throwing those chances away with his criminal actions.
Anna tells Peter that she is being held accountable for her actions and believes that soon Peter will be held accountable for his! Peter shakes his handful of files in her face, telling her to just keep believing that and telling herself.
Peter continues, reminding her that she doesn’t have any evidence to prove that he’s actually guilty of anything – holding out his hands as if ready to be handcuffed – and that she could arrest him if she did.
Then he sneers at her, saying even if she did have evidence she couldn’t do anything about it, because she still needs something from him, doesn’t she? Isn’t that why she’s really there? Anna says nothing but looks him in the eye squarely, likely considering what she will say next.
