General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) could be pregnant and facing a “Who’s the daddy?” dilemma soon. Will Britt end up with a bun in the oven and wonder if the father is Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) or Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher)?
Based on what’s played out so far, it seems like a reasonable route for GH writers to take.
For starters, there was an awful lot of talk about children while Jason and Britt were on the run. Britt acknowledged that she didn’t have kids, so she didn’t have to worry about passing down the genetic marker for Huntington’s.
Jason also discussed how if it weren’t for his children, he wouldn’t want to know about the marker if he were in that same situation.
All that kid talk could’ve been building to Britt’s next storyline – one that could drag both Jason and Jax into the drama.
That brings us to Jax’s part in all this. It felt super random for Britt to suddenly fall into bed with Jax, so what was the point? P
erhaps the writing team was setting up Jax as another father option ahead of a baby bomb.
It hasn’t been all that long since Britt slept with Jason, especially when you consider how warped soap time can be. One day can take a week or more to play out, so it’s wise to keep that in mind.
As we’ve seen with Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) pregnancy, the show just goes with whatever timeline works for the story anyway.
If Britt realizes she’s pregnant soon, she’ll no doubt wonder if Jason or Jax is the “baby daddy.”
A DNA test could reveal the truth down the road, but Britt would have quite a secret on her hands in the meantime.
Britt would also face some tough decisions like whether to keep the baby and whether she should come clean about the true paternity.
This could be the start of a complicated new chapter for Britt, especially since Jason is on the verge of marrying Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
