General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) may be named the co-chiefs of staff and have to share this crucial job at GH. Will these dueling doctors be forced to turn their rivalry into teamwork?
Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) will have to make a decision now that she’s taken Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) place as Chairperson of the Board.
Britt expected she’d be thrown out of the chief of staff role, but Monica revealed she hadn’t made her choice yet.
Monica just wanted a chief of staff she could trust and get along with, so that gave Britt an incentive to play nice.
Of course, Terry threw her hat in the ring as a Chief of Staff candidate. Now the race is on – and it’s already getting nasty since neither Terry nor Britt is taking the high road.
Who will win this fierce battle and score bragging rights? It seems likely there’ll be two winners in the end, so let’s consider why.
For starters, Terry opened up about why she wanted this position so much.
Terry confided in Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) about how she thought she could make a real difference and spark some changes that needed to happen – particularly ones to benefit the transgender community.
The show can’t very well have Terry lose after that, now can they? What kind of message would that send if they had Terry want to spark these important changes and then not allow her to make them?
Terry has great reasons for wanting this role at GH – and all signs point to her pulling off a victory.
However, that doesn’t mean Britt will become a loser in this war!
Britt has lost far too much already lately, including the future as she knew it to her Huntington’s marker confirmation.
Britt has also lost Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), at least for the time being, so it seems excessively cruel for the show to rip away her job next.
There’s only so much one woman can take, so Britt needs to be cut a break here.
The solution seems to be letting Britt and Terry share the chief of staff title.
Terry and Britt could put their differences aside to focus on helping people in need, which is at the core of what they should be doing at General Hospital.
That way Terry can make the changes she talked about – and Britt won’t be kicked while she’s down!
As a bonus, Britt and Terry could become permanent sparring partners and provide some comic relief at the hospital.
They could be frenemies in the end and bring some fun to GH, so having Terry and Britt share the role sounds like the ideal plan.
