General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) may find herself stuck in a power struggle down the road. GH viewers know Carly recently took her seat at the table and is carving out a place as the new head of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) organization.
Although Sonny never wanted this for Carly, she knows what she has to do and is willing to step up.
Of course, Carly has battled some private concerns, but she put on quite a show of confidence in front of Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and the heads of the five families.
The longer Carly’s in power, the more comfortable she may become with being in charge. It could lead to some issues once Sonny returns, especially if he’s not quite himself!
There’s no guarantee Sonny will have all his memories back when he reunites with Carly.
Sonny could easily still be “Mike” when he first comes back to Port Charles. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) may feel like it’s best for Sonny to reclaim the Corinthos throne anyway as a sign of strength, but will Carly be willing to give up her newfound power?
Carly might refuse to return that power to Sonny – particularly if he’s still smitten with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) at that point. That could certainly bring another layer of General Hospital conflict if there’s a war over who should be in charge.
Now that the five families have shown faith in Carly’s leadership skills, perhaps it’s best not to rock the boat for a while. That could be Carly’s argument if she wants to stay in charge of the mob and keep doing things her way.
General Hospital spoilers suggestCarly may not feel she can trust Sonny if he’s still “Mike” – or if he remembers but still isn’t exactly the man he used to be. There might be worries over whether Sonny can be a powerful leader again if his Nixon Falls days have made him soft.
Whatever the case, this mob queen version of Carly is a lot of fun! Many General Hospital fans have been enjoying this side of Carly and might like to see more of it. Will Carly tighten her grip on this leadership role and refuse to give it back when Sonny returns?
