General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will turn to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) after Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) painful betrayal, so Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) twin will become a source of comfort.
GH fans know Sonny fell for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) when he had amnesia, so it’s not his fault that he found love with someone new.
Nina and Sonny shared a few kisses as well as some dances, but they never actually hit the sheets together. That’s something else to keep in mind as we brace for the bomb that’s about to drop in court.
However, Sonny still betrayed Carly by trying to brush all this under the rug.
Sonny got upset over Carly and Jason’s feelings turning real, so that would’ve been the ideal time to come clean about his own complicated romance in Nixon Falls.
Instead, Sonny protected Nina and tried to spare Carly from the news of what they shared during his time away.
After Sonny defends Nina on the stand, that’ll make matters even worse.
Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) will make sure the whole shocking story comes out, so Carly will be an emotional mess in the aftermath.
Despite Sonny’s efforts to explain, Carly will need someone else to confide in. She would normally open up to Jason at a time like this, but he’s sadly no longer around to offer a sympathetic ear or any words of wisdom.
Fortunately, Drew will step up in Jason’s place on January 3. That’s when Carly will tell Drew what she’s feeling and get some much-needed support.
This should strengthen Carly and Drew’s bond, so we have to wonder if things might take a romantic turn between them sooner or later.
After all, Drew is Jason’s twin brother and could serve as sort of a Jason substitute in Carly’s mind.
Drew is the closest thing Carly has to her best friend in the world, so it’s easy to see how she might be drawn to him and kick off a romantic relationship at some point.
Whatever the case, Carly’s marriage is about to take a major hit. She’ll lean on Drew as she struggles to cope with Sonny’s betrayal, so stay tuned for updates on what that means for “CarSon.”
