General Hospital Spoilers tease that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) has claimed to have had a spiritual awakening and found God while incarcerated. Cyrus is a master at finding ways to deceive people and a lot of that is because he believes himself superior to everyone else, with the possible exception of his sister, Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis).
So Cyrus expects that people will hang on his every word, and the perfect way to get his message (and drugs) to the largest amount of people might very well be to take over the leadership of the Dawn of Day Cult (DoD), which he could begin even while still in prison.
General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Skilled Manipulator
Cyrus is a high powered drug kingpin whose success in the mob can be attributed to his skills in manipulation.
General Hospital viewers may remember that Cyrus had TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) kidnapped in order to get Police Commissioner Jordan Ashford (Brianna Nicole Henry) to follow his orders. In the process, Jordan became a dirty cop which she still has to live with to this day.
No matter what happens next, Cyrus will always be the one who corrupted Jordan, and that’s where he gets his power!
General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Need New Way to Move Product
Since General Hospital will no longer be available to him, Cyrus will need a new avenue to distribute his deadly product.
Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) mostly used Dawn of Day to satisfy his needs by having new female members drugged into submission. But he also required new members to reveal something about themselves or someone they love that they would never want made public.
That way, if Dawn of Day acolytes ever tried to leave, he had something on them to reel them back in even when they wanted out.
General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Uses Newfound Spirituality To Reach Out To Lost Souls
Cyrus’ plans for Dawn of Day will likely be two-fold. While his followers might be easy prey to use his addictive products, he will also have the means to distribute his drugs.
With his followers effectively becoming pushers and selling spiritual awareness that only Cyrus can provide.
That way, Cyrus can convince his followers that his products bring about spiritual growth with D0D. And if his believers want to ascend, they will likely be told to bring in as many lost souls as they can find.
General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Taunting Sonny Corinthos
While Cyrus has told Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) that he has found God, he has also managed to obtain a burner phone that he uses to call Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard).
But the calls aren’t spiritual in nature at all, with Cyrus usually talking in riddles or just gloating over Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) death.
Cyrus certain doesn’t act like he has had any sort of awakening when speaking to Sonny, so the whole thing is completely suspect.
General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus’ Unfinished Business in Port Charles
Cyrus certainly isn’t finished with Port Charles, and Dawn of Day may be the perfect cover as he regains power. He will certainly try to recruit former members like Harmony (Inga Cadranel) and Kristina Davis-Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth), Sonny’s daughter.
But Cyrus will also have to be very careful, because Laura will be watching him like a hawk, if and when he gets out of prison.
Laura is his weak spot though, so look for him to continue to get Laura’s love and approval even if he has to pretend to find God to do it.
Is Cyrus on the up and up about his spiritual awakening? Or is he just using it to help end his incarceration? Could he become the new leader of Dawn of Day and once again terrorize Port Charles?
