General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the circumstances of Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) death remain incredibly suspicious. GH fans never saw a Nelle’s corpse, so the question is: Why?
It just feels like General Hospital would’ve offered that glimpse of deceased Nelle if they intended for her to stay gone for good.
Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is GH’s chairman of the board and could’ve easily helped Nelle fake her demise. We can’t forget that Nelle was a pretty problematic client for Cyrus’ brother, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight).
Back when the custody case was going on, Martin didn’t really use Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) mob battle with Cyrus as part of his argument. It seemed like a huge legal misstep at the time, but Martin was probably protecting Cyrus in hindsight.
Cyrus nearly killed Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) father, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in that first three-way attack on the Corinthos clan. Sonny’s enemy posed a massive threat to Wiley, but Martin focused on other angles and pretty much tanked Nelle’s chances of winning.
Since we now know Cyrus is footing the bill for Florence Grey’s (Annie Abbott) medical care, it makes sense that Martin would’ve tried to keep Cyrus out of that drama. However, Nelle is another enemy of the Corinthos clan. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” as the saying goes!
Nelle might’ve found herself an ally in Cyrus as a result, especially due to how things went down with Martin. Did Cyrus help Nelle fake her death? Does Cyrus secretly know Nelle’s alive and in hiding somewhere?
If so, an opportunity might fall into Cyrus’ lap now that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) knows Nelle is her biological daughter.
It’s surely no coincidence that Nina was just pulled into the Florence kidnapping story. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) accused Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) of knowing more than he was letting on when it came to Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) strategy.
Once Nina puts the rest of the puzzle pieces together about the cliff fall cover-up, she’ll have an even bigger motive to go up against Carly. General Hospital buzz hints that Cyrus will approach Nina with an offer in the coming weeks, so this could be an exciting possibility for both of them.
Will Cyrus propose a deal? Could Cyrus offer to reunite Nina with her daughter in exchange for a reunion with his mother? That seems like a fair trade and a great way to tie these storylines together even more.
Nina might find herself extremely motivated to expose Carly’s kidnapping scheme and make sure Florence is returned.
