General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will have to fully commit to her plan if she wants to dupe Peter August (Wes Ramsey). As Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) pointed out, Maxie will have to deceive those closest to her when it comes time to fake her baby’s death.
Of course, that means lying to her family and friends – including Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) inadvertently found out about Maxie’s plot, but Dante should remain in the dark for now.
Nevertheless, Olivia was adamant that Dante should reach out to Maxie and be there for her. Olivia suggested that Maxie was a lost soul and that Dante might be able to relate due to his recent experiences.
General Hospital spoilers state that Maxie’s goal is to keep her baby safe, so she’ll hopefully accomplish that with Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) help. What about Maxie’s safety?
Who will keep Maxie out of harm’s way as Peter fights to bond with her in the aftermath of Baby Lou’s fake demise?
Once Dante assumes Maxie’s baby didn’t make it, that’ll give him even more of a reason to step up. Dante certainly won’t want to leave Maxie vulnerable while Peter tries to take advantage of this time of grief.
This could present an opportunity for Dante and Maxie to grow much closer. That conversation between Olivia and Dante might’ve been a significant clue about a new romantic path.
Many GH fans would rather see Dante and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) stick to friendship, so General Hospital writers might wind up going with Dante and Maxie instead.
It makes more sense when you consider the fact that Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) will wake up from her coma down the road. It’s soap gold if Lulu emerges from her comatose state and finds that the man she loves has moved on with her best friend.
However, this wouldn’t necessarily have to start out as a real relationship. Dante might simply pose as the new man in Maxie’s life – making Peter think that there’s truly no hope for a future with Maxie.
Maybe Dante and Maxie could enter a fake relationship to make Peter believe there’s nothing left to fight for at all.
After the “death” of Maxie’s baby, she may lean on Dante and trust him to protect her from Peter. If Dante and Maxie pretend to be in a romance to push Peter to move on, it could certainly become a real romance over time.
Whatever the case, General Hospital writers are laying the potential groundwork for Maxie and Dante to build a new family unit together.
