General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, August 27, reveals that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) almost kissed while Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) seemed to have a Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) obsession – causing Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) to warn of trouble!
At the Metro Court on Friday’s GH episode, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) tried to apologize for the tension at Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) special dinner. He wanted to start over with Carly, but that plan changed when Jax found out Mr. Buscema would be in attendance at the wedding.
After Mr. Buscema told Carly he’d be there, Jax said their daughter was going within a mile of that wedding if this was any indication of the guest list.
Jax had done his research on the five families and didn’t want Josslyn at the ceremony, but Carly countered that Joss was a grown woman and would be the maid of honor.
Jax felt like this was a sham marriage and ranted about Sonny’s blood money keeping Carly warm if Josslyn got killed.
Meanwhile, Jason met with Dr. Buscema by the bar and reached an agreement with him about the Novaks being an issue.
Later, Jason helped Carly relax by the pool. He suggested that he was beginning to wonder if Jax knew Carly at all, but Carly pointed out that Jason knew her.
They reminisced and shared a dance before leaning in for a kiss, but Carly got rattled and pulled back to shut it down.
Carly decided she’d better return to work, but there was a definite shift happening between them.
As for Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth), he caught up with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and encouraged her to call him Austin instead of Dr. Holt.
Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) noticed Austin’s interest in Maxie, but they quickly turned their attention to the document Austin had acquired.
Although Scott had high hopes for it, he pointed out that the wheels of justice turned slowly and revealed that he was headed to St. Lucia for a romantic getaway.
Back with Maxie, she talked to Jax about Carly and Jason’s wedding before getting quizzed about Nina’s love life.
Maxie admitted there was a mystery guy keeping Nina in Nixon Falls now and encouraged Jax to move on since Nina already had.
On the phone, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) found out from Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) was alive and in Nixon Falls.
Nina said she could take care of the problem if Liesl couldn’t, but Liesl was more than willing to handle it – especially since Peter had threatened James West (Curtis and Owen Rufca).
Outside, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) urged Peter to reveal why he made Nina uncomfortable, but Peter tried to act like they were business rivals.
Sonny didn’t think Peter was a good liar, but Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) appeared and scolded “Mike” for how he was treating their guest.
Once Sonny was alone with Phyllis, he admitted Peter seemed to recognize him when he first showed up.
As for Peter, he returned to Nina and vowed to blow up her life if she didn’t cooperate. Peter suggested he could make it so Nina couldn’t show her face in Port Charles and would never be near her grandson.
Peter reminded Nina that Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) was Sonny’s grandson as well. He didn’t think Jax would like hearing about her “playing footsy” with Sonny either and ultimately gave Nina 24 hours to come through for him.
Next, Obrecht talked to Scott about their St. Lucia trip and was inspired. She gave Nina a call back and encouraged her to give Peter a bogus St. Lucia tip.
Obrecht mentioned her medical conference trip could serve as her alibi and seemed confident in her plan.
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) found Ava Jerome (Maura West) by Kiki Jerome’s (Hayley Erin) grave and learned she wanted to put oceans between them.
Ava planned to go after some artists she’d had her eye on in Europe, but Nikolas wanted her to promise she’d return home. Instead, Ava simply told Nikolas that she’d love him wherever she was.
At Spring Ridge, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) greeted Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and introduced Esme as his girlfriend.
After Ryan was wheeled nearby, Spencer grumbled about him.
Esme seemed knowledgeable about locked-in syndrome, but she played dumb when she approached Harmony outside with Ryan later.
Harmony explained Ryan’s condition to Esme, who suggested she wanted to learn since she had plans for medical school.
When Esme first started talking to Ryan, he blinked “Hi there” according to Harmony. However, Ryan began blinking like crazy when Esme mentioned the idea of volunteering at the facility – signaling “go, go, go” to Harmony.
Esme learned that sometimes patients with Ryan’s condition could have eye spasms and argued that must be it.
As for Alexis, she encouraged Spencer to patch things up with Nikolas just before Esme returned. Esme gave a little wave in Ryan’s direction as she exited with Spencer.
Harmony ultimately approached Alexis to reveal that she’d dealt with a lot of wayward girls in the cult, so she could tell Esme was trouble.
General Hospital spoilers say Esme will indeed continue to stir the pot, so don’t miss what’s ahead.
