General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, December 3, reveals that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) taunted Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) over her secret right as Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) showed up. Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) also feared an ace was up Peter’s sleeve, so let’s talk about how it all went down.
At GH, Nina looked uncomfortable as Carly approached her with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). When Nina tried to offer sympathy regarding the whole Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) situation, Carly bit her head off and stomped away.
After trying and failing to find Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), Carly left her a lengthy voicemail. She hated that Monica would have to mourn the loss of her son again and knew how much Jason loved Monica.
Nina interacted with Sonny briefly about Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) baby before listening to Carly’s tearful voicemail from around the corner.
In Sasha’s hospital room, she prepared for news about Liam Corbin with Brando by her side. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) introduced the neonatologist, who had to rush off and deal with another patient’s emergency. That left Britt to offer updates instead, so she explained that an EEG had been scheduled for Liam and that they would know more after the results.
Britt found Carly afterward and shared a surprisingly sweet moment with her on a bench. Afterward, Carly met back up with Sonny as they paid Brando and Sasha a visit. Sonny was touched over the nod to Mike Corbin (Max Gail) in Liam’s name and went with Brando to the NICU to see the baby.
While Sonny offered positive words of wisdom to Brando, Austin approached Peter since he was his new patient. Peter was at GH due to the injuries he sustained on Cassadine Island and was as smug as ever.
When realized Austin was the doctor who helped deliver Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom), he pushed for details since he missed out on the experience. Austin wasn’t interested and intentionally missed Peter’s vein when drawing blood to make it painful.
After Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) name came up, Peter seemed curious over just how close Austin and Maxie were. Austin was nonchalant over Peter’s veiled threats, but Peter believed fate would bring his family back together and hinted that sometimes fate needed a helping hand.
Once Austin met up with Britt, he explained that he was assigned Peter’s case and wanted to keep it that way. Austin was concerned over Peter acting like he had an ace up his sleeve.
As for Nina, she was distracted and couldn’t make it on the elevator before the doors shut. Peter was wheeled over by a medical staff member – and a couple of officers were there to stand guard.
After Peter commented on them both being difficult to kill, he explained to Nina that Jason shot him and that’s why he required medical attention. Nina wished Jason’s aim had been better and got in Peter’s face to snarl about there being a special place in hell waiting for him.
Peter figured Nina would beat him there and thought it odd that she was even back in Port Charles since she’d stolen Carly’s husband in Nixon Falls. It ultimately dawned on Peter that Carly didn’t know the whole story. As Nina looked up to find Carly staring her down behind Peter’s wheelchair, she grew nervous.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) tried to play peacemaker for Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). Valentin knew he had to find some way to say goodbye to “Bailey” before he explained things to Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez).
Brook Lynn glared and rushed out of the living room, so Valentin worried she wasn’t going to let him see “Bailey.” Fortunately, Brook Lynn returned and handed over the baby, so that led to a tough goodbye between Valentin and his former “daughter.”
Meanwhile, Maxie tried to wrap her head around seeing Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) in the flesh as they chatted in the kitchen. She found out Drew had already been to see Scout Cain (Ella Ramacieri) as well as Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
Maxie seemed uncomfortable talking to Drew about Sam, but he assured her that they were over long before his disappearance. When Drew brought up Dante Falconceri (Dominic Zamprogna) being at Sam’s place, Maxie hinted that romance had been a slow process. She added that Sam and Dante actually kind of came together searching for Drew.
Maxie talked about her Peter regrets, but she acknowledged that she wouldn’t have Louise without him. Drew got excited for a moment thinking Maxie had Louise back, so she nervously clarified that she had faith in her daughter’s return. She hinted about someone maybe protecting Louise from Peter and figured Drew must think she’s deluding herself.
Nevertheless, Drew admired Maxie’s hope and wished he could do something to help. He remained upset over Jason’s fate on Cassadine Island, but Maxie thought it was at least good that Peter didn’t have power over Drew anymore. She felt like Peter still had power over her through her fear and would give anything to change that.
After Maxie caught a glimpse of Valentin saying his farewell to “Bailey,” she backed away and seemed upset. Maxie covered with Drew, but she was torn up over all the lies and suffering in a moment alone. As Maxie barged out of the kitchen doors, she declared that it had to stop.
