General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Friday, July 16, tease that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) will make a scared confession while Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) seeks the truth about Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and his impending marriage. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will also have a close call, so here’s what viewers can look forward to.
For starters, Sasha will come clean to Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) about why she’s been a bit distant. Sasha’s worried about just how involved in the mob Brando intends to be since she doesn’t want that added concern when it comes to her child.
Once Sasha confesses, Brando will admit he wasn’t expecting that. He had no idea this was an issue for Sasha – and it’s true that Brando would like to be an asset to the Corinthos organization.
However, there’s nothing that matters more to Brando than the life he wants with Sasha and their baby. Brando will hope to prove that to Sasha in the week ahead, so let’s hope they can work through this obstacle.
Until then, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will wonder if Jason is really OK with Brando establishing a role for himself within the mob.
Jason may agree to trust Brando and give him more responsibilities, but it sounds like Brando may have to turn the job down soon!
Sam will also appear on Friday, July 16, so she’ll be around to question Jason’s true marriage motives and perhaps confront him. Jason will just have to stay focused on doing what he feels is best and keeping his promise to Carly.
As for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), she’ll seek another favor as she continues planning her trip to Texas. Maxie will have an interesting run-in, but she won’t let anything distract her from her goal of leaving Port Charles for a while.
At GH, there’ll be some tension between Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) and Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson).
Austin will have to tread carefully since he wants to keep his new job, but he won’t back down on contesting Edward Quartermaine’s (John Ingle) will either.
Look for Austin to stand his ground in his next conversation with Monica. “I’m not going to let you tell me otherwise,” Austin says in Friday’s preview video.
At the Metro Court pool, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) will be looking much better as he enjoys some fun in the sun.
Chase will lounge by the pool with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), who’ll suggest to his partner that it’s just like old times.
Although Chase will smile, he’ll no doubt admit there’s one big difference. Chase still can’t walk, but he’ll be determined to learn how again – mainly for Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) sake.
At New York Methodist Hospital, it looks like Anna will just barely miss Sonny.
Sonny’s about to come out of an exam room and Anna is right there in the hall, but there’s nothing to indicate they’ll run into each other according to the latest spoilers.
As for Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), he’ll continue his chat with Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) and most likely realize they have someone special in common.
Phyllis just introduced herself, so this should lead to some connected dots as Valentin explains that he’s another one of Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) former flames.
Phyllis will have a warning to pass along in Friday’s episode, so she may treat Valentin just as harshly as Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher).
It’s clear that Phyllis doesn’t want Jax, Valentin or anyone else from Nina’s past dragging her down. Phyllis would much rather see Nina pursue a new future with “Mike” aka Sonny.
Once Valentin reconvenes with Anna, they’ll discuss what’s next when it comes to speaking with Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) pilot.
Anna will remain hopeful about David Hopkins being the key to cracking the Peter case, so she’ll hope her upcoming meeting brings a breakthrough.
Back in Port Charles, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) will have an important discussion with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).
They’ll debate what exactly Austin is entitled to and how this could change the game at ELQ if he’s successful in getting what he wants.
Next, Willow will pay Nina a visit at her penthouse and try to clear the air. She’ll acknowledge that Nina is part of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) family and will do her best to embrace Nina as Wiley’s grandma.
Willow may admit that Wiley needs all the grandparents he can get since Sonny has passed on.
Of course, Nina will battle more guilt over keeping Sonny’s survival a secret, but she’ll keep finding ways to justify her actions.
As for Sonny, he’ll get updates on Lenny Caulfield’s (Rif Hutton) latest scan at New York Methodist and realize things are as bad as they seem.
It’ll break Sonny’s heart to think about Phyllis losing Lenny, but that may be a reality he has to accept.
Nina will get a difficult phone call from Sonny before long, so don’t miss what’s coming up. We’ll keep you posted as other GH news comes in.
General Hospital spoilers say Nina and Sonny’s Nixon Falls reunion is just around the corner, so she’ll remain caught up in quite a mess.
