General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, July 30, reveals that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) remembered Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) while Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) reflected on a peculiar dream. Willow Chase (Katelyn MacMullen) also got a shocking visitor, so here’s how it all went down on Friday’s GH episode.
At the Metro Court, Ava Jerome (Maura West) looked suspicious over Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) request for a truce.
Ava took Spencer’s extended hand and thanked him for the offer, but she insisted there was no need to forge a relationship with her since she was out of Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) life.
Spencer pointed out it didn’t look that way earlier, but Ava was adamant about the marriage being over. She shrugged that Nikolas is just a man who wants what he wants and doesn’t take no for an answer.
Since Ava stood her ground on the divorce, Spencer asked why she was sending Nikolas mixed signals.
Spencer snapped at Ava, but he eventually took a softer approach and pretended he was seriously concerned about Nikolas’ safety.
Spencer didn’t want to lose his father again, so Ava suggested maybe keeping her distance and just communicating with Nikolas through lawyers was for the best.
Spencer suggested he was truly grateful and was finally seeing Ava for who she really was. He thought he had come back for his father just in time.
Nearby, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) realized Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was nervous about attending Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) birthday party as a couple.
Carly pointed out it was a big transition and voiced her concerns, but Jason insisted they knew why they were doing this and had to follow through on the best choice they made.
At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) helped Willow with some birthday party prep.
They acknowledged that it was a bittersweet day since it was also the day Jonah died. Michael previously thought Jonah was his own son, so he understood the loss must be tough for Willow.
Willow admitted she would’ve rather had Michael by her side at the cemetery than Chase. Michael and Willow eventually made all sorts of family plans for next near – including getting a puppy.
They wound up kissing passionately until Willow pulled away. Michael quickly kissed Willow again, but Carly’s arrival with Jason sent them flying apart and scrambling to cover.
Once Carly was alone with her former daughter-in-law, she wondered what Willow and Michael were doing. Willow played dumb, but Carly knew she’d walked in on something between them.
After Willow confessed she couldn’t abandon Chase in his time of need, Carly talked about how doing something with the best of intentions could backfire.
Since Willow had a terrible poker face, Carly worried people would be able to see the love she had for Michael.
Willow didn’t want to hurt Chase, but it was getting harder and harder to hide her true feelings.
Carly mentioned how stubborn hearts could be, but she promised she’d always be there if Willow needed to talk.
Willow appreciated being part of Carly’s family and suggested she never had heart-to-heart conversations like this with her own mom growing up.
At the cemetery, a mystery woman approached Jonah’s grave and put flowers down before touching it tenderly.
In the Quartermaine mansion living room, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) asked what Austin was doing there. Michael invited Austin, who had shown up early.
Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) pointed out it was survival of the fittest with the Quartermaines, but he thought it’d help if Austin had an ally.
Brook Lynn then dragged Valentin out of the room to warn him to stop sucking up to the interloper.
Valentin could tell that Brook Lynn was watching Austin like a hawk, so she admitted she found him suspicious.
Brook Lynn reminded Valentin that Austin had been in the right place at the right time in the woods – plus, he owned the house where Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) crazy nurse took Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms).
On a park bench, Sam and Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) discussed the lack of progress in the Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) case.
They also cleared the air about Drew Cain since Shawn was sent to kill him back when Drew was Jake Doe.
Sam remembered her marriage to Drew – and was glad that Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) got in Shawn’s way since she wouldn’t have her daughter otherwise.
Sam suggested going back to the garage where the crime happened, though she knew it was a long shot after six years.
Sam worried that maybe Shawn should just live his life and enjoy his fresh start.
However, Shawn wanted to put the attempted murderer behind bars and make a difference.
At Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) place, she confronted Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) about Hayden Barnes’ (Rebecca Budig) shooting.
Liz remembered Nikolas confessing he did it to protect her, but Nikolas reminded Liz that he later took it back.
We saw a newly created flashback of Nikolas claiming he simply wanted Liz to think he’d do anything for her.
Back in the present, Nikolas deceived Liz by insisting he didn’t have Hayden shot. Liz was apologetic for the grilling session, but Nikolas acted like he was glad to put her mind at ease.
Back at the Quartermaine mansion, Austin met Chase and got his perspective on the Quartermaine clan as a fellow outsider.
Chase felt like Austin would find his place if his claims were true, but he warned the doc couldn’t be thin-skinned.
When Austin asked Detective Chase for updates on Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom), Brook Lynn came back in the room looking panicky.
Chase couldn’t say much, but Austin admitted he kept having a peculiar dream.
It always took him back to the woods where he heard two women talking, which was weird since Maxie was supposedly there alone.
Chase suggested that maybe Austin subconsciously heard the fake nurse and Maxie, so he said maybe that was it.
Valentin eventually cornered Austin again to push for a lunch meeting and wanted to discuss his continued leadership at ELQ.
As for Michael, he talked to Jason about still being in love with Willow.
Michael told Jason that Willow only married Chase because of his health and added that they were waiting until he could walk again to tell him.
Michael felt happy and guilty at the same time, but Jason didn’t think Michael should blame himself for his feelings. He felt confident Michael would figure it all out.
Michael intended to take a page out of Jason’s book with Wiley and instill the same sense of confidence that Jason gave him when he was little.
Once Michael headed inside, he made it clear to Valentin and Austin that Ned should be the CEO.
Michael argued that the Quartermaine company should be run by Quartermaines.
Back with Austin, he witnessed Chase standing and taking a step in another room.
While Carly went to wake Wiley up from his nap, Willow answered the front door and was stunned to see the person in front of her.
