General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, November 5, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) traded Joey Novak’s (Patrick Zeller) life for the entire Novak organization while Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) made a bold rejection of his prince status. Here’s how it all went down on Friday’s shocking episode.
At Kelly’s, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) showed up with Spencer and found Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) making out with Cameron Webber (William Lipton), so she teased them about getting a room.
Later, Esme offered a fake apology to Joss and acted like she was being insensitive with that comment.
Esme also made Cameron uncomfortable with talk about the cabin and separate rooms since he was such a gentleman. She was clear about knowing Cameron hadn’t taken his relationship to the next level with Josslyn.
Esme continued to pester Josslyn about how time alone might help her get past whatever was blocking them from the bedroom.
Soon after, Josslyn and Cameron compared their schedules and smiled once they settled on a time for privacy at Cam’s place.
As for Spencer, he received his paycheck and was appalled over how paltry it was. Spencer needed fast money for a lawyer, so Esme pushed him to make things right and be the prince he was born to be.
After Spencer found Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) at the gallery, he admitted he was there to see Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and accept her marriage to his father. Trina wondered who Spencer thought he was fooling.
Since Trina knew this was about Spencer’s trust fund, he lashed out about not being able to afford a place to stay with Esme and not having any money to go out to eat.
Trina thought Spencer was a spoiled rich kid and was done with him. She suggested Spencer needed to work on himself before she could consider calling him a friend.
At Spring Ridge, Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) told Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) that since he couldn’t take Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) down with the legal system, he made him pay in other ways.
Shawn admitted he scored money from Nikolas for a nonprofit organization and wanted Alexis to join him as an administrator. He tried to give Alexis a nudge toward taking the pardon and getting back to her life on the outside.
Alexis refused to accept the deal, but the warden showed up with news that she’d been pardoned anyway.
At the Metro Court, Ava assured Nikolas that Spencer would come around – if only for the money’s sake. Nikolas was hopeful about having a real relationship with his son again someday.
After Nikolas met with Shawn about the nonprofit details, Ava pushed for real answers about what was going on.
Nikolas took Ava back to the gallery so they could speak privately, so they found Spencer with Trina.
Spencer was glad to see Nikolas since he had something to say. He insisted he was happy Nikolas was with Ava and announced he didn’t want to be a prince anymore.
Spencer also didn’t want anything to do with the dirty Cassadine fortune and rejected the Cassadine name altogether. He got emotional as he said he was no longer his father’s son and told “Nikolas” goodbye.
Spencer expressed his gratitude to Trina for putting him on the right path and left Nikolas standing there in shock along with Ava.
Meanwhile, Sonny entered injured Joey’s hospital room and revealed that there was no coming back from threatening his wife.
Joey was apologetic, but that wasn’t good enough for Sonny. When Joey wondered how he could make this problem go away, Sonny explained his terms.
Sonny insisted he wanted everything – all of the organization Joey’s uncle left behind, including the holdings there and offshore.
Sonny was willing to let Joey walk out of there alive, but he vowed to take Joey out if he threatened anyone Sonny loved again.
Joey relented and gave up everything, so Sonny laughed over what a pleasure it was doing business with him and gave him a lesson on hubris.
After Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) voiced her support for Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) in her battle against Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Carly joined Sonny in wondering who was behind the attack on Joey.
Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) also talked to Liz about the mystery man and her lingering concerns about him.
