General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Hayden Barnes’ disappearance will be investigated, so this could set up Rebecca Budig’s return and bring another complication for Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
GH fans know Nikolas has plenty of challenges to juggle right now since the stalker situation has forced a divorce.
Nikolas is dealing with the heartbreak of losing Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and will now work on reconnecting with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).
Of course, Nikolas will also want to find out who’s behind the threats that ended his marriage – and he’s in for more heartache when he realizes his own son betrayed him.
There’s also the matter of Hayden’s shooting, which Nikolas certainly doesn’t want to go down for.
Nikolas set that shooting in motion and would rather see Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) keep paying the price, but things will start to unravel once Shawn goes free.
It turns out Shawn will be quite curious about Hayden’s disappearance, so he’ll track down Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and push for answers during the week of July 26-30.
This could put Shawn hot on Nikolas’ trail in the shooting case as well – but more importantly, it could set up Hayden’s eventual return to Port Charles.
All the pieces are coming together for Hayden to make her long-awaited comeback and reunite with Violet Finn (Jophielle Love).
Violet needs her mother in her life, so Rebecca Budig’s return as Hayden Barnes is long overdue. Naturally, Hayden might be looking for revenge once she comes back in the picture.
It’s Nikolas fault that Hayden’s missed all this time with Violet since he was the one who created a bogus threat and drove her out of town.
Hayden wasn’t in real danger – at least not until she left Port Charles. There’s a good chance Hayden ran into some legitimate trouble once she went into hiding since there’s no other reason she’d leave her daughter for so long.
Hayden might blame Nikolas for all that and determine that he needs to suffer for what he’s done.
Between Hayden and Shawn, Nikolas could be attacked from multiple angles. He deserves what he’s got coming to him, so he’d better be ready!
No matter how all this plays out, it seems like Rebecca Budig could be returning as Hayden Barnes down the road. We’ll offer updates as other GH news rolls in.
