General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cameron Mathison’s character could be the new owner of The Invader – that is if Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) clue ties in with this upcoming debut! Most GH fans have heard by now that Mathison is indeed headed to the show in a mysterious new role.
The show’s keeping the details under wraps, but it makes sense that they’d want to plant a few clues ahead of Mathison’s first appearance. No matter who Mathison is playing, he’s going to need a job.
We’ve already got Roger Howarth (Austin) playing a new doctor, so that perhaps makes it less likely that Mathison will play one as well.
General Hospital will probably want to go in a different direction entirely with Mathison’s new part, so it’s possible he’ll play the private investor who just purchased The Invader. We could certainly buy Mathison as a character in the world of journalism.
It also makes sense to keep The Invader running for the sake of new scandals. There needs to be a way for juicy gossip to spread around Port Charles and create all those typical shockers.
The Invader allows wild stories to pop up in the form of phone notifications and leave PC residents’ jaws dropping.
Of course, that could still happen with someone running The Invader off screen, but there could just as easily be a replacement character who fills the void Peter’s leaving behind.
Since Cameron Mathison’s character is a mystery and this private investor is a mystery, it’s worth speculating that solving one of them might mean solving them both.
However, it’s too early to know for sure without official confirmation from the show. General Hospital spoilers say Cameron Mathison’s character will definitely shake things up and bring some excitement, so we’ll all be eager to see who he’s playing and what his career path will be in Port Charles.
