General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) blooming love will bring supporters and detractors, so expect a mixed reaction to PC’s hottest new couple. As Britt and Jason explore their feelings for each other in the coming weeks, there’ll be some people rooting for them while others remain critical of the duo’s potential.
First, let’s talk about the GH characters who’ll be firmly on Jason and Britt’s side. There was a time when Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) wanted her daughter as far away from Jason as possible, but those days are long gone.
Now Liesl respects Jason for saving Britt’s life and providing comfort when she needed it most. Obrecht would love for Jason to keep putting a smile on Britt’s face and heating things up with her in the bedroom, too.
Once Britt eventually fills Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) in on this romantic development, she should have someone else rooting for her happiness with Jason. Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is one more character who might get behind Britt and Jason as a pairing.
The same goes for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), especially if it keeps Jason busy and reduces the risk of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) being found.
However, we can’t ignore the critics who’ll stand against Jason and Britt – or who’ll at least act like they don’t have a real shot at making it work.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) may try to butt out since this isn’t her choice to make, but that’ll prove difficult since she’s so close to Jason. Although Carly has softened toward Britt lately, that doesn’t mean she’ll be without worries as this romance progresses.
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) may not stand against Britt and Jason, but she’s not likely to be their biggest cheerleader either. Ava will probably be curious more than anything, so that’d put her in more of a neutral zone.
Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will also get updates on Jason and Britt’s newfound closeness, so that could bring some jealousy and fears about Jason getting hurt.
So many people want to think the worst of Britt, so Sam may be included in that group. Although Sam has moved on from Jason, that doesn’t mean she won’t be a bit territorial under the circumstances.
We might also see Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and a few others close to Jason object to this pairing. Nevertheless, all that really matters here is how Jason and Britt feel about each other.
There’s an undeniable spark between them, so Britt and Jason are poised to make the most of it in the months ahead.
