Jason has always put Carly before everything else in his life. He’s always seemed okay with it and justified it as doing what he had to do.
However, everyone reaches the point where they get tired of living for everyone else and want to have something of their own.

Jason and Britt had a fugitive romance but it wouldn’t end when they returned to Port Charles. Jason made a promise to Britt to be there for her after learning of her diagnosis. He also had feelings for Britt and she hasn’t gotten over her feelings for him.
When Jason had to tell Britt that he was marrying Carly, it devastated her. She tried to cope in her own way but is still hurt over Jason’s announcement.
Then, we have Jason, who kept going up to Britt to talk to her and see if she was okay. She had told him each time to go away, but he kept finding himself reaching out to her.
It seemed as if Jason couldn’t let Britt go. He might not even understand it himself as sometimes the heart overrides the head.
Carly Corinthos’ Pressure
General Hospital spoilers reveal that during the week of August 9, Carly will worry about Jason. Carly fears that she is putting too much pressure on him.
Of course, if Carly talks to him about it, Jason will just say that they are making sacrifices and choices for the good of the family.
He’ll insist that he is fine and there is nothing to be concerned about. If Jason is already under pressure, then how much more can he tolerate? People can only take so much before they break, no matter how tough they are.
