General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that some new casting sides point to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) stepping up to support Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) in a surprising way.
GH fans know Britt made an appointment to get her hand tremors checked out, but there hasn’t been any follow-up to reveal what’s next.
Sooner or later, General Hospital writers will have to deliver some movement in that story. Britt clearly has a medical issue – and she suspects it’s a deadly one based on some of her dialogue.
However, there could be hope for Britt with the help of a specialist or some experimental treatment. Anything is possible in the soap world!
The real point of this storyline may be to bring Britt and Jason closer, so let’s look at one way the show might achieve that. We mentioned the new casting sides that potentially hint at Jason stepping up for Britt.
GH is casting the role of Dr. Gannon, so a leaked script has this doctor greeting “Beth” and asking “John” to wait outside while the doc talks to “John’s” wife. “Beth” then pauses and plays along with the husband thing – letting Dr. Gannon know she’d like for her husband to stay if that’s all right.
It’s clear in the script that “John” isn’t really “Beth’s” husband, but she wants him by her side for support anyway.
Of course, the names have been changed in an effort to preserve the story – much like Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) name was changed to “Seth” back when the show was casting the role of Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton).
Even so, it’s easy to make some connections here. Seth became Sonny. Beth becomes Britt. John becomes Jason. The first letter in each name seems like a tipoff to the character each one is actually disguising.
Britt is facing health issues that this doctor might assume she’d want privacy to discuss, so that certainly fits with her story. The goal here is probably to put Jason in this awkward situation where he has to pose as Britt’s husband and give her someone to lean on in her time of need.
It could be a crucial step toward making Britt and Jason a couple.
Although Britt is up against something quite serious, there could be some cute Jason and Britt moments in the midst of this health battle. As other GH news and updates come in, we’ll keep you posted.
