General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) will hope he can work out a deal with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). GH fans know Cyrus was furious after his mother, Florence Grey (Annie Abbott), was suddenly snatched – and he’s been trying to get her back ever since.
Since nothing else has worked, Cyrus decided to play dirty and get Jason charged with Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) murder. That’s where Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) came in.
Gladys gave a bogus eyewitness account and swore that she’d know those cold eyes anywhere!
Gladys assured Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) that Jason was the one she saw disposing of the murder weapon in the garbage shoot, but it’s just a made-up story – one that Gladys could ultimately recant if Cyrus gets what he wants.
General Hospital spoilers say Cyrus’ real goal here is to make sure Florence is finally returned to him. Florence hates her criminal son’s guts, but Cyrus adores his mom and will do whatever it takes to get this deal locked in.
If Jason will give up control of Florence, then Cyrus will vow to have Gladys recant her statement and get Jason off the hook. Cyrus will think it’s fair to exchange Florence’s freedom for Jason’s.
Of course, Jason and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) are bound to be wary of this potential arrangement.
Why should Carly and Jason trust Cyrus to keep his end of the bargain? Cyrus will no doubt want his mom first, so what’s to stop him from going back on his word and letting Jason rot behind bars?
Perhaps Cyrus will suggest that’s just a risk that Jason and Carly will have to take! Carly will be desperate to keep Jason out of prison since she can’t handle losing him right now.
It’d be too hard since Carly’s still grappling with the loss of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), so Carly will be highly motivated to get Jason cleared.
Cyrus will insist that Gladys will remember a different version of events if Jason cooperates, but it all hinges on Florence going free. Since Florence is Jason and Carly’s only leverage, they’ll fret over what might happen without that safeguard in place.
Even if Cyrus keeps his word and has Gladys recant, he could still try to kill Jason – and drugs could run rampant in Port Charles. There’ll be major concerns on Jason and Carly’s end, but they’ll also know they can’t just leave Jason locked up.
This is putting Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) organization in jeopardy, so it’s important for Jason to be a free leader ASAP. Jason and Carly will have to mull over their next moves carefully, so don’t miss what’s in store. We’ll pass along updates as other GH news comes in.
