General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) will score their safe house release, so the mayor and her brother will come home to some surprising changes in PC. Let’s talk about what drove the siblings out of town and what’s still to come as they leap into action.
Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) posed a serious threat to Laura and Martin since he put out a contract on them. Since Cyrus was vengeful enough to want Martin and Laura dead, they were forced into hiding.
Laura and Martin were taken to an undisclosed location so they could stay safe while the threat was handled.
Of course, the main reason for all this was Genie Francis’ desire to take a little time off. As for Martin, he didn’t have a whole lot going on in terms of a story.
It made sense to send Martin and Laura off canvas together for a bit, so that’s what GH writers did.
However, Francis always planned to return after her summer break, which has spilled over into fall at this point. It looks like Laura will be back along with Martin around the time November sweeps wraps up or perhaps in early December.
Based on a leaked script, Laura and Martin will still be at the safe house when we first see them again.
Someone named Agent Silva will deliver updates on Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) survival along with the news that he struck a deal with the WSB to stay out of prison.
Laura will reel over Victor’s alliance with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and the fact that Victor scored immunity.
Laura won’t be happy about any of this – and she certainly won’t approve when she learns Victor is in Port Charles.
That’s where Victor will be living by then, so Laura will be eager to get home and stay on top of things as mayor.
PC needs a strong leader right about now, so it’ll be great to see Laura reclaim that leadership role.
Naturally, Laura will want to reunite with a very-much-alive Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) now that he’s returned from Nixon Falls.
Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) could also use some guidance following the stalker exposure that led to Spencer’s arrest.
Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) is anxiously awaiting his wife’s return – and there’ll be an opportunity for Laura to get involved in the brewing Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) mayhem.
Martin will have a chance to get back in the action as well, so there’s so much to look forward to.
