General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) death will take a toll on the family he left behind. Cameron Webber’s (William Lipton) been struggling to accept Franco’s demise, but seeing the proof for himself was a crucial step forward.
Now Cam can focus on actually grieving, though it’s going to be tough.
Of course, Jake Webber (Hudson West) and Aiden Webber (Jason David) will have a hard time as well. Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will perhaps go through the most pain of all since she’s lost her husband and still has to be there for her boys.
Some dark days are ahead for this family since Franco was suddenly taken from them in an instant.
However, we have to wonder if there might be a bit of light at the end of this dark tunnel. GH fans will recall how Julian Jerome (William deVry) stopped by Kim Nero’s (Tamara Braun) apartment and found out she had a baby shortly before his death.
Although Kim’s nanny was under the impression Julian was the father, we can’t ignore the fact that the baby was supposedly named Andrew aka “Andy.”
Franco’s exit arc just concluded with a video message from “Andy” as Franco sometimes called himself when he was memory-mapped into believing he was Drew Cain (Billy Miller).
That memory-mapping storyline was crucial since it gave Peter August (Wes Ramsey) a motive to kill Franco and force him to take his incriminating secrets to the grave.
With all that in mind, could Kim’s baby remain part of the looming drama? If Kim named her baby “Andy,” then it seems likely that memory-mapped Franco was the father.
Kim slept with Franco when he believed he was Drew, so Franco may have had a child out there he didn’t know about.
In Cameron’s recent dream, Franco talked about how he never wanted or imagined himself having children until Liz’s boys came into his life. It’s easy to see how Franco’s kid talk might set up a baby surprise for Elizabeth at some point.
We have to remember that Kim clearly had some mental health issues during her last stint. Kim could go off the rails eventually and leave little Andy without anyone to raise him.
It’s even possible Kim could leave her baby on Elizabeth’s doorstep with a note asking Liz to take over parental duties – or at least a note for Franco not knowing he’s dead.
Then again, Kim could die tragically or find herself forced into a mental institution. There are plenty of ways for GH writers to get Kim out of the picture, which would be ideal since Tamara Braun is busy playing Ava Vitali on Days of Our Lives.
General Hospital could always recast briefly, but Kim isn’t really needed for the story we have in mind here. We’re talking about giving Liz a little piece of Franco to remember him by.
Franco’s son could come into Elizabeth’s life and give her a new storyline as she resolves to raise him – knowing that Franco would step up if he could.
Do you think Kim’s baby will still be a factor? Does Andy actually belong to Franco – and could Liz wind up with custody of the kid if Kim loses it?
