General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Lulu Spencer’s (last played by Emme Rylan) coma awakening could be in the works. Despite the speech Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) made in the October 7 episode, there’s no way he’s truly over his old love. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) can’t compete with what Dante and Lulu shared, so there’s a story worth pursuing here.
Many GH fans were frustrated when Dante acted so indifferent about the end of his romance with Lulu. Are we supposed to pretend Dante wasn’t pining for Lulu when she was with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson)?
Should we just forget that Lulu literally mouthed “I love you” to Dante just before she collapsed and fell into a coma?
During Dante’s conversation with Sam, he focused on Dustin’s marriage proposal before the bomb went off.
Dante tried to act like there was nothing left to fight for, but that doesn’t line up with what we saw onscreen. He still loved Lulu and was willing to wait forever for her once she was comatose.
Naturally, this is a soap, so nobody actually expected Dante to be single indefinitely. It’s just sad that the writers are trying to diminish what Lulu and Dante shared, but perhaps there could be a good reason why.
Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) gushed about how Lulu and Dante had a love for the ages in the same episode, so maybe the show’s about to prove Dante wrong.
Dante might change his tune if Lulu finally wakes up and insists she wants him back.
Although Dante has growing feelings for Sam, Lulu is perhaps Dante’s soulmate.
It’s just hard to believe Dante would ever choose Sam over Lulu after seeing the depth of what “Lante” had together.
Of course, people do change – and writers can change their minds, too.
Even if Dante does intend to stick with Sam, there’s still an opportunity for Lulu to return for a chapter about closure.
Regardless, Lulu can’t stay in a coma indefinitely, so her comeback could be happening – whether that’s in the form of a recast or former actress reprising the role.
Many fans would lose to see Emme Rylan or even Julie Marie Berman back as Lulu, so we’ll see how it goes.
