General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) is praising the pairing of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) as the ‘next big thing’ on GH. Of course, that’s a bold view that plenty of fans are going to have strong opinions about!
On Twitter, one viewer responded to a promo video by sharing her likes and dislikes regarding the show. This fan wasn’t happy about Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) storyline or Sonny’s memory loss storyline in Nixon Falls.
However, she loved what’s been playing out between Britt and Jason, so she insisted that Thiebaud and Burton were “rocking it.”
Since Benard was also tagged in that tweet, he took the opportunity to weigh in. “Steve and Kelly Are great together. Next big thing,” Benard said. He added a boxing glove emoji to really drive his point home and seems to really love this pairing.
Many fans would agree with Benard about Thiebaud and Burton having some sizzling, surprising onscreen chemistry. They’re awesome scene partners who are building what could be a fantastic pairing and a way forward for Jason following his devastating breakup from Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
It’s nice to see that this story hasn’t been rushed or forced. There’s a genuine sense of caring that’s slowly developed between Britt and Jason, so that’s brought some fun moments as well as some tender ones. It feels like there’s intriguing magic to Jason and Britt that arguably just works!
However, not every fan’s going to feel that way – and that’s OK! There’s no denying that the show did Jason and Sam fans dirty, so they have every right to complain about losing the couple they loved.
Sam and Jason had lots of history that could’ve been further developed with a new chapter, so it’s understandable if “JaSam” fans can’t help but be a bit bitter about the whole situation.
Nevertheless, it’s clear that GH writers want Jason and Britt to be the new couple to root for. Most of us want Jason to find love and happiness with someone, so it might as well be Britt.
Britt’s proving to be an excellent new match for Jason, so it’ll be interesting to see where things go from here. Maurice Benard certainly seems eager to find out!
